  1. We suffer from a strange mix of players at the moment. We either have old experienced players who are at varying stages of being over the hill or inexperienced players finding their way in league football. What we dont have are enough mid to late twenties players competent and experienced at playing at our level.

Yep, it was. Played on what is now known as mad Friday, which may have been why it was played on a Friday night due to playing Plymouth. My first ever night game and one I’ll remember for some time.

We also played Hartlepool on a Friday in 2009. As I was gutted because it being a Friday when I was still in uni, I couldn’t go.

Went to the Plymouth match with a friend of mine who has nevet been to a football match since. Not sure why that put him off going again.

It's easy to get a corner over the first man but that's not the only objective; if it was then lamping a corner over that goes out of play for a throw in would be considered successful.

They are aiming for a rather more precise spot that that.  It's a bit lie the obsession with shots on target; pointless if the goalkeeper could throw his hat on it to make a save - it's far close to a goal if it misses by six inches withn the keeper nowhere but the stats always suggest differently.

Yes its one of those conundrums in sport like why do professional golfers miss 2ft putts when they practise so much. All down to pressure  of the competition I guess.

I really hope this week in training we concentrate on how to miss the first man at a corner and how to put in a cross away from the keeper, i lost count how many times the final ball was shite after decent build up play..We got one corner right and scored from it..

It even happened in the England game I was just thinking how does that happen when they must be practising corners every day. Its been going on for years at Latics.

It’s on the website Morris very clearly - https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/club/visitors-guide/

We are in league 2, how many others are you expecting turning up when the team aren’t at home to collect tickets when it is easy booking tickets online. Stupidity.

I use my ST to buy for myself and my mates for away games never had an issue. Times are changing, you only have to look at most high streets to see that. Amazon and the likes online taking over.

Incidentally Andy I am not stupid! Out of order.

Not sure that you can get away game tickets online?

Hours been the same for a while now I think, hardly surprising that if team aren’t playing we don’t open, can’t see the numbers coming to buy tickets outweighing paying staff   - https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2016/december/new-ticket-office-opening-hours/

So if you want to find the ticket opening hours on the website you have to find a news story from December 2016 good on you for taking the time to dig that one out. Most customer facing business'have opening hours prominently displayed/linked on the home page. It isn't always about the cost against how many turn up, there is such a thing as customer service. You can take the cost argument to its extreme and perhaps they should open say one day a week,Saturday would be ideal.

There's probably nobody left at the club to pass the news on..

    There isnt.

Went for Tranmere tickets yesterday morning, ticket office shut, rang bell several times,no response went inside nobody around. We are only customers, fancy not having the ticket office open for those fans that work. This is relatively minor compared with the crap that is going on "behind closed doors" or in this case open doors. The club is a shambles.

  10. Well we have staggered through to our usual 17th position without sacking the manager before November, just the Assistant this time. Word gets around in football about how intolerable it is behind the scenes at Boundary Park and no self respecting manager would apply for the job.Needless to say someone will be desperate to get back in.

AL has sacked most of the players with any fight, spirit to challenge the status quo and high end wage. We are left with a mix of players some off the scrap heap, some trying to get a foothold in English football others starting their first team careers and then the loanees. Don't think that we will get to January and be able to reshape the squad. There is no money even to pay the wages consistently on time, only the desperate will come to join a desperate manager.

We may survive in this division this season but the long term outlook with AL in charge looks bleak.

That actually sounds positive.  I would imagine they broker deals, obtain funding etc.

They are a routine firm of accountants providing a range of services,I have had dealings with them .They could be providing a range of services routine or specialist, so don't get too excited. They do have more clients in the sporting world than many other firms.

The AR thing is a mystery for sure and not ideal.  Frantic speculation is pointless.

As for the statement... it’s an announcement of an announcement. Not worth getting worked up about yet.  Some slightly over the top reactions to it.

People need to calm the fuck down.

I'm calmly sitting here watching our club getting ripped apart, no problem,we can  always start up again from scratch

  13. Never mind Nixon doing a story on it what have the Trust got to say on it.why has Simon Cooper left? Too many staff have left the club under different guises I have asked the Trust before if they are happy with the situation and they say that its not their responsibility, meanwhile peoples working lives continue to be destroyed in the name of the club that we support
