  1. I'm not suggesting that one rich guy is better placed but we could do with one or two reasonably affluent investors alongside the 1000 fan investors
  2. Then maybe as 0000 suggest its voting rights that are on the agenda - my thoughts are that even £1m/ year is not enough whereas the joint funidng of someone whether SC or JW or whoever would give us more of a chance at moving forward. I do understand your point though and am merely wondering if this is a real proposition that could be considered. Obivously with a larger share we may have more sway, other substantial investors maybe encouraged to come in if they also know that there are people with a vested interest also investing £1m/year. However this could also put off any investors who want total control. Who knows it may bring someone like Barry Chaytow or Mike Newton(if he's not committed elsewhere - Port Vale)back to BP
  3. No sorry, I wasn't clear it was for a share of ownership of say 49% giving a controlling interest to the current incumbent(previous investor etc)but giving a substantial piece of the club to the 1000 owners
  4. Thats cool, its just a suggestion that may appeal to some, more importantly could 1000 people afford to invest £1000 or is there a level that this could work on and if so is there the stomach to put it in practice
  5. DS the scheme that you mention may have some legs - maybe though its with SC involved as he probably has more financial clout than any one individual on here. However if we can get substantial investment from a scheme like this - with some benefits/powers to the group then maybe it would interest the club. If it was interesting enough could we get 1000 people to invest £1000 including standard season ticket via dd on a monthly basis, it would help the revenue somewhat(Minimum of 5yr commitment maybe) It would rely on 25%+ of the current home support investing and t's and c's being agreed. Any ideas on how we could move it forward, £1m a year could not be ignored or do people think its a non-starter
  6. I think moaning at the club trying to promote something just smacks of desperation to be hyper critical, its much easier to crticise than create. Secondly and not living in Oldham, maybe just promoting the fact that there is a game on may drag a few floating fans to BP against a team from the far south. Not a lot to lose and still we moan.
  7. Hi All, I have a selection(200+) of old Latics programs from 1997to present day requiring a good home/careful owner. If anyone would like these FOC please PM and I'll bring them to the next home game Cheers
  8. What happened with 6 mins of injury time? How long was held up on the board, does anybody know?
  9. We don't own the box, Manchester cabins do, the main cost as I understand it is to lease a new box on a short term lease(<3 years)is prohibitively expensive before the fixtures and fittings are then installed. This is my take on the issue rather than gospel. However I do know for fact that on the busiest games and where the box is over sold (STs and hospitality combined)that some of the ST holders are moving to the exec seats in the mainstand allowing the generation of extra revenue. There is no pressure from the club to do this but it is a gesture from those ST holders.
  10. And the game we lost that I think I enjoyed most if that makes sense
  11. Not sure if this is fishing so my point was that all the very negative posts from people not at the game were an uninformed reaction to a bad scoreline. Your take on the commentary which is still second hand is at least based on opinions from people watching. Anyone can comment but to start suggesting that a whole revamp is required(not you bb80)from a scoreline is a basically a bit silly
  12. I think the last line says it all as the majority playing today got relegated last year, however maclean etc were kidding the ref all game, whilst leaving their foot in - they are a physical long ball team with a quality right winger and two good forwards. A quick Gregan would have coped well today unfortunately I don't think there is one in our squad ;)
  13. Am with you Buckers - bourne out by the fact that the majority of the fans stayed behind to clap them off !! the scoreline was much worse than the performance
  14. Wardle as discussed I'll add a donation of £5/ Latics League win on top of my playershare contributions
  15. Were any of the critics actually at the game today because most of what I have read is utter tosh? Peterborough are a strong good side, PB Goal 2 came after the fracas and we switched off when their guy hurled a Rory Delap like Throw in into the area Goal 3 came from a mistake from Kieron Lee who before and after had a good game - but should have known better and he was punished by a great finish unfortunately. Goal 4 was a free header from a corner which we should have done better from - heads were down and we were chasing the game Goal 5 was a mis-timed tackle. Goal 3 took the wind out of our sails however we continued attacking and created chances but inevitably got caught on the counter. Post-Mortems of our season are not required at this stage or are you all just looking at something to moan at!
  16. Doh! Too many early beers - Cherrywood obivously am v ashamed!
  17. Barry, I am happy to sign up for this if you get it off the ground
  18. Probably 700-1000 Latics games and 40+ England games - thing for me is I love my club and I love my country even if the politicians have tried to detroy it. Feel the passion of getting behind the country and enjoying the feel good factor that eminates when we - England do well!!!! However Oldham Athletic shades it
  19. "Tell me ma..me ma to put the champagne on ice" was quality especially at BP when we beat the Villa and at Maine Rd at the 3-3 semi-final
  20. There's nothing wrong with my axe though to be fair its not 19" - that would just be inconvenient. It was a good finish mate - as it hit the far top corner with bend, though as earlier the marking was conspicuous by its absence ;-). Dave's goal was the pick though, sorry with yours a close second
  21. It wasn't a bad finish to be fair - though still 1 on 1 from 8 yards ;-) Therapy would however had been needed if you had managed to get the other one back over me
  22. Sounds a plan, though may have to come and visit you in warmer climes, can you arrange a friendly out there for us?
  23. Its Glucosaminathingmybod these days LL! Hows the liver and Burkha
  24. Its our best chance of a sustainable future in what being an early 70s watcher(75ish)has been Latics home(Div 2 old money)
