  1. Simon Stainrod and Rodger Wylde were awsome together when we destroyed Blackburn one easter in the mid to late eighties.
  2. I thought that O'Grady looked hungry and eager to impress when he came on last night. His touch was good, he worked hard and he has a point to prove to Shez. He should have a run in the team if he keeps that up.
  3. Why were the Latics fans in the Rocky singing the Yorkshire I'm a b*stard song when Scunthorpe is in Lincolnshire?
  4. The title of the thread is correct if you read my first post.
  5. I read a topic on another website this morning about going in the home section at away games. It reminded me of a match verses Cardiff in the 76/77 season I think. A mate and I got talking to some Cardiff fans in the Spinners before the game. We got on really well and they suggested we go in the RRE with them for the game. Being young and foolish (and after several beer we agreed). Walking to the ground with them we got attacked by some Latics fans but that didn’t put us off. Latics won 2-0 and my mate and I both went mad when Latics scored. We got some funny looks from the Welshmen but survived intact. We must have been mad. Has anyone else done anything similarly foolish?
  6. My tickets arrived yesterday and all of them have a seat number on them. When you go through the turnstile at Hartlepool they issue you with a ticket that also has a seat number.
  7. The Premier League and how the media think it is the only league. Salford Quays Seahawks and people who say they support them but have never been. Everyone and everything bar Latics
  8. I concur that you should get everything in writing to confirm that things have been "wiped clean". Well done to all concerned.
  9. Why do the supporters of the rugby club have an antipathy for Latics? I know one rugby fan from Shaw who went to the Rochdale game; he went in with the Rochdale fans (he doesn’t support them) & wanted them to win. I asked him why he wanted Rochdale to win and he replied “because I’m a Rugby fan”. He is born & bred in Oldham.
  10. The feeling of belonging, being different from the glory hunters of Salford Quays Seahawks, the anticipation of the game, the feeling when we win has to greater than those who support the so called big 4. It's my life, its the pain & pleasure in one, it's just me. Couldn't ever change.
  11. I moved away from Oldham 30 years ago. My son & I both have season tickets and return for almost every game.
  12. Mike Parry is an ignorant fool. He openly admits he never watches football outside the premiership, but constantly passes ill-informed opinions based on his flawed knowledge.
  13. He's here, he's there We're not allowed to swear Chris Taylor, Chris Taylor.
  14. The BBC have now corrected part of the report. Evidently, we still couldn't make the extra man count though? "Oldham were down to 10 men on the stroke of half time after Craig Davies headbutted Nathan Stanton. But Oldham failed to make the extra man count and had to rely on penalties to dispatch their north west neighbours".
  15. Taken from the BBC website: “Rochdale were down to 10 men on the stroke of half time after Craig Davies head butted Nathan Stanton. But Oldham failed to make the extra man count and had to rely on penalties to dispatch their North West neighbours.” Another piece of lazy journalism concerning non-greedy league football?
  16. A fantastic game and a great atmosphere in the Rochdale Rd end. However, I thought that the PA system was very poor and the announcements were inaudible.
  17. Liddel had a very good game today and if he can keep up that level of performance will start most weeks. His energy level was high and he seemed to have regained some passion. He had to take the penalty despite Hughes wanting the ball. Kelvin was again excellent.
  18. It will be Crossley tomorrow. Fleming will play at Rochdale on Tuesday.
  19. It has to be Alan Groves. He really was something special. I remember us playing at Anfield in the 1977 FA Cup. He got the ball and seemed to leave the whole Liverpool Defence lying on the floor as he went past them.
  20. Name? Dave Sweeting >Location? Lincoln >How Long Supporting the Tics? 39 years >Best away match you've been to? Ipswich Town 1991 to gain promotion to the top division >All Time Greatest Player? Alan Groves >Biggest Rivals (in your eyes)? Manchester United on account that so many Oldhamers betray the cause and say they support them
