  1. Do you really expect a disabled season ticket holder to turn up with the same carer every match? If the person who gives his ID on the Friday breaks his arm on Friday night are you seriously suggesting the disabled person cannot go and just loses his money. What have you got against those less able than yourself. If you seriously know of one person abusing this then report them to the club rather than branding all disabled as cheats and making there life just that bit worse for your own ego.
  2. I need someone to get me in and out of the ground but not during the match. If I can't find a carer I use a friend who has a season ticket with a better view so I don't use the ticket in this case. Would never dream of selling it. Entry to both ends of the ground are steep gradients which I cannot propel myself up with my hands.
  3. Our former Centre Half has died. He was a class defender in different times. We waited with breath held as the winger pushed the ball past the full back and set off down the wing to collect it. More often both he and the ball were collected by Alan who would then deposit both against the advertising hoardings. He would then jump up to resume his position in the centre of the defence. Not the biggest of players but one of the hardest and skillful as well. RIP
  4. My best memory was at an FA cup match at Stoke when Stoke were in the 1st Division and we were in the 4th. We were getting beaten 3 _ 0 and according to a man in front of me it was all Phoenix's fault. Late in the match he won the ball in is own penalty area made is way past 5 Stoke players and then played a wall pass and thumped the ball into the top corner. Silence from the complainer.
  5. I have a spare ticket for the Chaddy if anyone needs one. Its free.
  6. It is not just seats but suitable parking and pathways. You cannot just turn up and push yourself all round the ground on the off chance there is somewhere for you. You need to have the information about where to park. Which gate you can enter through before you get there.
  7. What is worrying me is that there is little information about how our wheelchair fans can now watch this match. What if you have a season ticket and now cannot get tos ee 2 matches because no thought has been given to your disability. I would have thought the least the club could do would be to address the problems of the disabled.
  8. From 12000 miles away and have just watched the highlights. For me not enough praise has been given to Gerrard for our second goal. Instead of just hoofing it forward he looks up towards Holloway and then plays a perfectly weighted ball over the top of the defence. It gives us a 3 on 2 which to be fair Holloway uses brilliantly.
  9. Well Tramfixer I can tell you it is beautiful in NZ today. I am sat outside having tea in bright sunshine in Christchurch. Unfortunately it is not long before I have to head home.
  10. I was in the crowd for the Liverpool match with 42000. There was no segregation and the ground was mostly standing. The Rochdale Road End was higher in those days and completely open. The top half was just an earth mound coated in coal ash. It was before the building of the Ford Stand so except for about 50 seats that was all standing. The rear of the Chaddy was wooden boards.
  11. I will be listening from my sick bed and will applause at the appropriate time.
  12. My son was a fan of them. When we took our seats at Wembley to watch the Forest final we were on the halfway line opposite the Royal Box. I was just complaining to my friend that he had got tickets on the wrong side when my son turned around and said these are the best seats ever. I turned around and the Inspirals were sat right behind us. It was his birthday and he ended up with loads of IS stuff.Later they got him backstage at a concert. As an old man with 2 music degrees When I eventually got to hear them play live they were incredibly tight and Craig was a fantastic drummer. Far too early to be taken. Rest in peace Craig.
  13. Not going even if we get to Wembley. If they want Premier League youngsters to play against men they should run a reserve league and make it compulsory for all the clubs in PL to join in. It will still mean lots of foreign players rather than English.
  14. Groves was indeed great at beating his man or more often men. Unfortunately he just couldn't cross a ball. I remember seeing him play against a South American team in a friendly. They tried 6 different full backs and putting up to four men on him. None of it worked he constantly got in a position to cross but did not find an Oldham player all night. As a result they won 1 nil as their centre forward scored from the half way line.
  15. It is time the clubs told the EFL that it is for them that it is supposed to work not the Premier League or Scottish clubs or even horror of horrors the English National team. We have a formula that works for us and it is up to the premier league to sort out its own problems. Playing less fixtures means a financial loss to the club and less value for season ticket holders. They should be told by the clubs that no means no and that they should not keep wasting money constantly bringing it up and if they cannot accept that the people who are doing it have lost the confidence of the clubs and should resign and leave the administration to people who believe in doing what the clubs and their fans want. The resignation of the people responsible should be the purpose of the next meeting.
  16. Well if a friend had not paid for my ticket I would ask for my money back. I go to all that trouble to have a good moan and they go and beat a side from the division above. Even the referee leaned our way. Players all giving 100 per cent effort and two good goals from open play. It is an outrage. When I got home my wife had gone to bed so I couldn't even moan at her. This could be a very long hard season if they keep this up.
  17. I have decided to attend this mismatch so I can have a right good moan. I have not had one for ages. Now my only decision is which part of the ground to inflict my moaning on. Main stand upper usually gets my none stop moaning. If I sit in the paddock near the dug out I can influence the performance of the team by making them suicidal. If I sit in the North Stand I can annoy the corporate guests so they never come again. Maybe I should run a poll.
  18. I can see a lot of matches with only ten Latics players on the field by half time.
  19. How can playing less games bring in more money? How can having less games for your money make you more likely to buy a season ticket? Get the lie big enough and we won't notice? The Premier League has been allowed to take too much out of the game already. They should be told that they must have a 2nd team competition and that the Football league teams are not taking anymore crap from them.
  20. I thought referee was very poor. The kick in the head was a straight red card. Also there was a further free kick that the player through himself feet first into a tackle and he gave the foul but did not card the player. If Connor Browns was a red then this was a double red. Perhaps even though they did not rescind Connors sending off he was advised it was not acceptable and now bwhaves differently.
  21. Crawley confirmed today that they are in talks with Oldham to extend his loan for another 3 months.
