  1. Every time I've heard porter speak I've thought how lucky he is to be a professional footballer, clearly thick as pig :censored: regardless of which school he attended.
  2. There's a difference between being fickle and being stupid.
  3. I agree, I was merely pointing out he wouldn't qualify yet as 'dependable'.
  4. I would say Dieng is still unproven really. I gather he looked good in preseason but from the little I've seen despite clearly being a very cultured footballer he hasn't quite adapted to the pace of the English game yet.
  5. The best part was this little exchange between Manish and Claridge [speaking about Crewe]: Manish: Is that almost reflective of the mental fragility of some of those players? Steve: YOUNG PLAYERS?! Manish: Yes Steve: Yeah I think so. scene.
  6. This is generally my position on it as well. Unless we're getting someone who will make an immediate difference and improve the team then why bother? We have our own youngsters with potential who need game time.
  7. No, we can sign him on a full contract, there is no issue there.
  8. Yep, without a doubt. Looking good these two though.
  9. I can't see how this copyright claim for all pictures or videos taken at a football match would ever stand up in court, it's absolutely mental.
  10. In the old days, you could get your head and you could submerge it in a vat of boiling acid and now they're goin "oooh don't do that, what if Jews see it?".
  11. True, but (Trotman aside who had terrible luck with injuries at PNE IIRC) I believe all would have benefited far more from first team games with us than being lost in the 'youth bins' of Premier League clubs. In most cases I think unless they get a decent loan move immediately, moving to a big club at an early age is often detrimental to a players development. There's no substitute for the experience of first team football. It's a shame so many jump at the first sight of the big leagues money.
  12. I'll represent us, I did a module in contract law six years ago at university - I've got this in the bag.
  13. To be fair, the goal he scored was a woefully miss hit cross. I've never seen a striker look so unlike scoring and yet he managed it by accident.
  14. I would think they would protect themselves against that if they are paying a fee upfront for the loan. Similar to what we do with contracts that are for one season with the club able to exercise the option of a further year at their discretion but with some added complication. This is what I would do if I was negotiating it anyway, otherwise you're just paying to get him fit for another team.
  15. You can't put David Livermore in the same category I don't think. Was David Lee a deadline day signing? I second the Dean crier suggestion also - a striker with no pace, strength, height, or positional sense/match awareness.
  16. Good, not needed. Rachubka did well last season, he's had a shaky start but it's four games -paddy Kenny would be an expensive knee jerk reaction.
  17. Tarky won't have been on much, shmeltz, montano and MacDonald I would imagine were pretty average earners within the first team squad. The budget has been slightly reduced but not cripplingly. I don't think the budget has been user that wisely. Whilst it's difficult to pick out any one player so early and say they are a bad signing, I think we've signed to many midfielders. We obviously had to replace wes and korey but we also needed attacking threat. This was clearly the issue towards the back end of the season. We were solid but a bit toothless, and it appears we are again only now we're conceding goals which we just can't afford.
  18. I'm not really sure how anybody likes kasabian, they have some OK hooks but their lyrics are just cringeworthy.
