  1. keep croft, dunne and Klok almost if not entirely because they seem to actually give a :censored:, unlike most of the rest of our overpaid fairies (obvious exceptions). Get rid of burgess, it's like watching a baby giraffe on roller skates. Bring back edmundson and let's develop our own youngsters, this sort of loan is a complete waste of time, in fact it's worse than that denying opportunities to our own prospects.wouldnt waste a wage on gerrard good as he is, we have Clarke and the defence has been generally ok aside from set pieces. We need a midfielder with some workrate and bite, ability to pass a ball forwards would be nice. Green should have been this, he isn't. Ladspo will probably go somewhere and bag for fun, he's quick and has shown (very) rare glimpses of ability but not a player we need in this fight. Bring in a proper target man and let McKay and Erwin work off him. Erwin could probably play on the wing, one of the few (only?) players we have that can run with the ball. Don't even know what Jeraldo looks like, good friends with Arnold though I hear - get rid.
  2. Oh come on, they're adults. They will all know how many offers they had in the summer and they will know their options were very limited. Just as we have ended up with them, that is why they have ended up with us. Speaking facts will only offend the delusional (granted they're not in short supply in professional football).
  3. To be fair, I don't think that is Corney's fault (apart from the Oldham specific points). Football as a whole has been sanitised and packaged into a squeeky clean no edges powerpoint presentation, the FA, the PL, FIFA and the rest of them carry the true blame. Corney has just overseen the decline of our own club.
  4. A lot of blame has to fall on the players, bad team selection but they are League One professional footballers, not children. Corney should fine most of that starting 11 a weeks wages and use it to reimburse those that went, truly pathetic that they can turn in a performance like that. These days I play 5-a-side about once every 6 months and I am still pretty sure I could do a job for us on that showing. No desire at all, professional footballers is a very generous term.
  5. Erwin has loads of ability but didn't turn up here. Couldn't be arsed against lower opposition, 10 mins aside, very disappointing.
  6. Ft 3-2 The worst Oldham team I've ever seen by quite a distance. I did say in pre-season (the only time whilst we've been in this division) we were certs for relegation. Croft should be playing every week, one of the only players with any invention, tenacity, confidence in possession. Our 'seasoned pro' Green looks well past it, Clarke is doing his best and always looks head and shoulders above the rest but there is very little he can do with these shirkers and bottlers. Burgess is well out of his depth and should be getting experience in Fulham's youth team, not blundering his way through a season with us, our own youth players can do that perfectly fine and we'll actually see the benefit. Reckord is not as good as Connor Brown. Need to move Green on and spend that wage more wisely. The clock ticks on for Winchester.
  7. Good :censored:ing God, Green has been worse than useless.
  8. He already went off for McKay, but I agree we should take him again if we can.
  9. We win on haircuts, do we get any prize money for that?
  10. He has some quality in possession, bit of a wet lettuce though. Green has been very disappointing tonight, seems to get knocked off the ball every time he has it.
  11. Reckord looping header into the middle, Banks not going towards the ball, Burgess losing Robinson again. Absolute trash.
  12. id only take off reckord and burgess, possibly Winchester for croft but he is someone who if we come out and press could be useful.
  13. Because he pulled away to the back post to play on our weak full back. Burgess could stop that goal, no problem.
  14. I know he's one of your picks BP but you know full well that's his fault. He knows reckord won't beat that giant in the air, he also knows there isn't the pace on the cross for the big guy to score from there so he should be focusing on the runners and his own positioning. Instead he's mouth open, watching the ball. It's naive defending.
  15. Burgess ball watching, unconvinced by him. Another loaner to file under 'no better than our own'.
  16. Looks alright defensively, worrying in possession though.
  17. Dummigan booked, ridiculous decision. The FA have ruined the game, non contact sport for pansies these days.
  18. Coming out in the press and saying there is no money for the stand could be commercially damaging. Kicking the can down the road can be vital for keeping contractors interested and the project moving forwards whilst financial arrangements are secured. This is fairly common, football fans have this idea that they should know every detail of a clubs workings but whilst football has become 'business' it just isn't realistic.
  19. Just watched the highlights, those chances, jesus :censored:ing christ.
  20. I'm not old enough to remember 'the times before that' but I'd imagine the population of Oldham was smaller then although you could probably argue the cost was almost negligible at that time as a counter. More recently it's been the general slow decline since the glory days. Look around at home games, bar the youngsters singing in the rre it's mainly old blokes.
  21. I would doubt that, football has changed and so has society. Football clubs built support within a community, I don't think that sense of community exists anymore in most towns/cities. Add to that the gulf resultant from footballers absurd wages (even at our level) plus, half of them confusing themselves with the 'so solid crew' instead of a bunch of blokes playing a sport marginally above average and you can see how the people of a working class town fail to really connect. Support now depends almost entirely on success and fitting some corporate template championed by sky and the 'entertainment' cartel and we will always be judged on this by proximity if nothing else to the big Manchester clubs whereas once other factors would weigh in for many. Once we had the chance to stick it out in the bottom end of the prem but without massive investment those days are never coming back, the world has moved on.
  22. Reasonably, even though we were apparently dreadful at Rochdale, from the highlights we seemed to have all the chances. Football fans act like they have bipolar, the teams either :censored: or promotion candidates, nothing in between and it correlates directly with the previous result.
  23. I've always said the Chaddy End has great acoustics, it's the roof that makes it so unique. The problem with the RRE with it being so open is the noise just goes straight out and upwards.
