  1. Just saw this - we were still queuing up outside White Hart Lane when the first two went in! We got hammered 5-0 but the atmosphere in the Latics end was fantastic that day. We were cheering the team on up to and after the final whistle! Back to the Burnley match - my brother-in-law and his lad were two of the "Burnley fans" who left early. Mind you they are reds really who jumped on the Burnley bandwagon...
  2. +10!!! Fantastic news - made my f*cking day!!! And so what if we have no Greedy League teams in the "Champions League" semi finals. Maybe they should look at re-organising it again to squeeze more money out of the fans...
  3. Some people on here would now update that to: "the Chaddy End sucks the life out of the players"...
  4. "Ker-ching" say the Greedy League clubs... Aint happening, no, nay, never
  5. Just watched the "highlights" of our last 2 home matches and noticed we were attacking the Chaddy End first half in both... ...and we went on to lose both. I remember we used to hate playing towards the Chaddy in the first half and there were always some "grumblings" if we lost the toss and were turned around. It usually made a (psychological) difference to the team and we (in the Chaddy) wanted to the goals saving for the 2nd half. Anyone else remember this?
  6. Fair enough - sorry if I sounded a bit arsey. It is pretty rare to see our fans kicking it off at home - I was there when Rickers goal (for Walsall) at home to Walsall caused what I'd call a "mini handbags exchange" in the Chaddy due to the "Die Ricketts, die fans" and the "pro Rickers fans" disagreement the other Xmas time but you're right it is unusual.
  7. After moving here in 2001, I used to set my alarm to get up at 7am on a Saturday (even after a skinful the night before!) so I could listen to the commentary and chat with other exiles on MSN (and more recently OWTB). Nowadays, if I wake up I go back to sleep... No interest in it. I used to be gutted if matches were called off at Xmas/New Year but when I was over last Xmas, wasn't arsed... I've said this a few times on here before but I missed a home match when I was over last August/Sept - went on the beer instead. We lost 3-0 as well, but even then, years ago I would have been glad that I went. Something's gone seriously wrong at OAFC... And the silent majority are voting with their feet. But if you were 3 successful businessmen who'd lost a ton of money already on this "project" would you care enough to throw more money at it? I don't think the threat of relegation to the bottom tier and the beginning of the ultimate demise of OAFC matters to TTA. <puts tin hat on>
  8. You said that in another thread. Just repeating the same "story" in different threads doesn't make it true...
  9. It was a link to the open top bus parade and civic reception planned for May 2010...
  10. PMSL! Thanks for the laugh - I've always loved gallows humour.
  11. Sid's my hero for scoring that OT goal against the Yanks in the Olympics hockey final!
  12. That's probably cos it was obvious who scored? Pav, who else?
  13. Busted! I actually meant the Latics match live text but it's on the other web page, isn't it? With the "big" matches
  14. So you're watching the BBC live text thingy too! Pawel Abbott, "the Wayne Rooney of OAFC" *... * the Beeb didn't say that, it was me.
  15. No, he's lending him his gear for the day.
  16. ..we're winning. My disinterest has reached a new low...
  17. When we sealed promotion in 1991, I remember a bloke I used to work with saying "promotion will be the end of Latics". At the time I thought he was full of, er, it. Now I would never swap the 3 years in the top flight for anything BUT was he right? Personally, like others, I think the FA, the Greedy League and Sky was the the end of the fun.
  18. All the other plastic mancs from Failsworth will be knocking one out after hearing about that too...
