  1. I think it's the actual 'starting' 11 that the 5 have to come from?
  2. I stated my reasons earlier up in the thread, but I think sometimes there's other factors than the competition to bear in mind! For instance, last night as I was walking home I heard a bloke ask his missus how she enjoyed her first ever game .. she obviously thought for a fiver she'd got a decent deal etc so maybe for families it can work out a decent price ... and if that means we can get younger fans hooked by this means then surely that's a good thing?
  3. Apart from the few decent bits in the 2nd half, I would have happily swapped Banks for Fane at half time!
  4. tallest man on the pitch taking corners & free kicks! .. BADLY
  5. I'll be going tonight simply for the following reasons : 1. Live within yards of the ground 2. Can't make Saturday because I've got to work 3. It's a League team we're playing not some ten bob championship academy 4. and because of the above I believe the younger players who may/will give their all to try and make a regular 1st team slot their own deserve the support. 5. Might get to see the new boy bag a hatrick on his debut ha ha ha
  6. could it be down to stewarding/policE costs? .. ie if they know before hand how many turn up they know how many of the above they need! if they have to work it out on the day so to speak, then they probably have to over police it? .. so they hammer the pay on the days to try and eradicate it or to pay the extra costings??
  7. works both ways though? because he and hopefully a few others do this when we win, hopefully now we won't have a line of frothing at the mouth eejuts screaming obscenities at them when games don't go our way!
  8. for the guinness lovers, it's difficult to find a better glass of black gold than in there!
  9. akin to Clint Hill getting dogs abuse from the bindippers - " Tranmere reject blah blah " from a full JFS, until he appeared at the far post from a corner/free kick right in front of them and shut them right up .. right on Q the Latics faithful took great delight in repeating the chant!! CH took great delight in it also ha ha ha
  10. unbeaten runs always have to end at some point! .. you never know it may end up our job to end it! lol
  11. I used to stand in the lookers paddock but I think that time I was in the JFS! .. although I will also add I could have sworn it was a lot foggier too ha ha great goal - great memories!
  12. wasn't that the one in the fog from the halfway line in front of the Lookers that ended up in the net at the JFS?
  13. when I picked ours up they were all in my name. So I in theory now have an ADULT ticket and a CONCESSION ticket! They won't bat an eyelid who's coming through as long as an adult under 65 (?) isn't coming in on a concession ticket etc etc .. so if your mates are the same age group or less than the ticket then you shouldn't have a problem I wouldn't think!
  14. yeah definitely spotted croft and 2 new lads signed on Friday. I did think it was a little harsh to make those that played yesterday train - if not simply to prevent any injuries caused by lack of rest etc. That said, a nice way to motivate, if you don't play on Saturday you'll be in nice n early on Sunday ha ha
  15. Looks like they're all in for training this morning on Little Wembley! punishment or preparation for Tuesday?
  16. maybe that may be down to people having different cards etc .. ie Adult & Concession? if the turnstiles are automatic then I suppose no one there to check!
  17. could we be tied in with a loan deal (assuming Burgess is on loan - it's hard to keep up!) that means he's free to us or relatively cheap as long as we play/start him? .. if so that could dictate who partners Clarke!
  18. didn't he go to the Lancashire cup game then ... there's proof that we're better than that lot! lol
  19. were you in the main stand, row C or so almost on the half way line? saw a young lad constantly holding up a scarf and getting really involved! .. great to see
  20. the right tactics would have them 2 turning like cruise liners as the striker hits the back of the net!
  21. so is this a new approach at doing things or lack of funds for a hotel etc? I'd rather go by train than coach when I can, get into 1st and the comfort is decent and you can go for a wander to stretch your legs better than a coach. It'll be on the photogs summary in the chron I can see it now .. the crazy Dutch man and whoever he can persuade to join in with the riff raff having a beer after netting to get 3 points back in cattle class! now wouldn't that be a precedent to set for away trips? ha ha
