  1. Yes, and at Peter Beagrie's half-time analysis, and every time the commentators said "he's loving this" about Windass when he went in goal......... At least the commentators were knowledgeable enough to point out how disgraceful the officials were and sighed in disbelief when Smalley had a free-kick given against him for shielding the ball in the corner flag.
  2. I think a couple are on the 8:21 train from London, which is the only direct one, and gets in at 11:39. As BigFin said, we'll be coming over from the West and will be in Hereford about 1pm. We'll either be in the Victoria Tavern (which is modelled like a boat) or the Oxford Arms (the haunted one...). Either way the pre-match drinking session is going to be very exciting.....
  3. Think it was in the days when teams could only name three subs, in about 1995. This game was probably the best Latics performance I've seen at Selhurst Park - a definite bogey ground for us. We were two down at half time, but pulled the game back to 2-2, with goals from Vonk and Barlow (?). Think Garnett went off injured and we'd already used our two outfield subs, meaning Hallworth was the only option from the bench and Super Sean had to drop back into defence. I remember Hallworth nearly won it for us in the last minute, but put a free header over the bar. A classic OASIS away day! Remember there was piles of snow round the edge of the pitch and because of the bad weather, very few Latics fans actually made it.
  4. Missed Neil Redfearn's goal at Watford in the championship season, due to an unscheduled clamber over the allotments to get into their away end! Also missed Taylor's first goal at Leeds this season because the half-time interval wasn’t long enough for me to finish my beers...
  5. Didn't mean you specifically - meant that group of Oldham fans who tend to irrationally target individual players when things aren't going well. Goes without saying that your entitled to your opinion, but his game's still developing and to label him "s***e" when he's shown signs that he could become a pretty good player (in my opinion!) at this level is a bit over the top.
  6. "Shhhiiiitttttteeee"!? That's ridiculous.... Admittedly he didn't do much in the second-half today, but in the first half won every challenge, scared the defenders with his pace and held the ball up well. 22 years-old, been on loan to Bury and only signed for us in the summer - we don't like to give players much of a chance, do we??
  7. Shez is angry with the players?? Think he needs to start looking closer to home before he points the finger elsewhere. Exactly what benefit are Ormerod and Jones to the team? Omerod is unfit by his own admission and even at his best probably too a similar player to Hughes to form a decent partnership with him, yet has started the last two matches where we have failed to have a proper effort on goal. Have only seen Jones at Bristol and Swindon and seen nothing to suggest he's better than Eards and Lomax. I'm all for bringing in players on loan for depth to the squad, but we're basically being a reserve team for Wolves and Preston with these two - giving them match practice is only going to benefit the parents clubs as they're offering nothing to Latics. Shez has made changes just for the sake of making changes - he could have picked the team that beat Leeds against Swindon. Not in the Shez-out camp (if there is one!) at all, but the last two matches have seen us drop 6 points against teams that we should be beating if we're serious about getting out of this division.
  8. Previously London, now Cardiff........ (My Dad's from Chadderton, hence me supporting Latics)
  9. Ha Ha! Number 2's definitely a fact! If only we'd trademarked the name all those years ago - there might be a hell of a lot more cash floating around in the OASIS coffers....or we would have at least forced the Gallaghers to think a bit harder for a name for their band!
  10. Nice of Swindon County Council to put a sign up before Saturday to guide anyone wishing to have a pint with OASIS lads......
  11. I'd go along with that. Thought it was daft that Shez started with Omerod, who blatantly isn't match fit and said he was knackered after 20 mins on Saturday. Would probably also say Jones will have better games for us.... I think Rovers won the game by winning everything just outside our and their own area. In the second half, even though we put a lot of crosses in, they either won or there was no one there to challenge for the second ball...
  12. On a semi-related topic - Where are the Doves playing? Is it the one at the Royal Festival Hall, where they're supporting the Manics? Haven't heard anything from them for ages and the only gig I've seen them playing on the ticket websites is in Oxford. Won't be going to MK Dons, by the way.....
  13. Suggest we aim for the 12:00 train that gets us in at 12:49. Could be mistaken, but doesn't that 4 for 2 offer only apply to Southern Trains? Think the London to Colchester line is East Anglia Trains or summit. We've been in the following pub before, which could be used as a starting point: http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/11588/ The scene of many OASIS Pool and Darts competitions.............
  14. Yep - doing it in a day and sounds like we're on the same train going up (gets in at 13:02, changing at Brum - sound right?). Going back, I'm not sure - tried various different combinations on the virgin website to get it as cheap as possible. Think I'm on either the 18:10 or 18:25 to Manchester and getting the 19:34 from Manchester to Cardiff (which doesn't go to Bristol, I don't think). Either way, I'll bring the travel scrabble, just in case.......
  15. Thats a bit harsh! If people want to boycott the match because they think it's too much to pay, then I think that's fair enough. I for one wouldn't view it as an act of abandoning their support for Latics. Annoyed about the ticket prices for this, having already spent £35 on train tickets. Leeds have got ideas above their station - they're not famous anymore (as the song goes) and their ticket prices should reflect that.
  16. How about......Clockwork Tangerine? Worked well last time and could become a yearly OASIS event. Also keeps the tangerine theme going....something which the club don't seem to want to do!
  17. Right, the beard goes tonight - it's growth wasn't intended to make me look 20 years older!
  18. Yes, they have Carling in plastic glasses! Hope a few more are going to make the trip than the 30 who had brought tickets at lunch-time yesterday, when I rang up.......
  19. Know of at least one OASIS regular who'll be on that train - I'll be picking it up at Cardiff at about 11.10. Hopefully last night's performance will have resulted in Latics fans flocking to buy their tickets for this one - we'd only sold 30 when I rang up to get mine yesterday!
  20. Cheers, might do that. If a few of us can fill a cab up, it might be as cheap and less hassle, though.
  21. Getting the train up on Saturday and should be in Manchester Picadilly at 11:15. Anyone else on the train and up for sharing a cab to Boundary Park?
  22. For anyone travelling from South London, a few of us are meeting at London Bridge at half 10 outside WH Smiths and then heading over to Liverpool Street, if anyone wants to join us.
