    I agree RR. TP knows the younger players that are coming through and would help bed them in to the 1st team environment - assuming they are worthy of the step-up. However, the pipeline will run dry without TP at the Youth End of it. He is not the man for the No2 job as he is not the Bad Cop that is needed anyway.

    Also, is it me or is there a battle going on between TP and SC with regards to the No2 job? TP says he is over-worked and Barry questions the investment in the youth set-up. Is SC saying that he understands that TP wants the job security of the youth set-up but that might be going anyway? If you want a job TP then you better look at the Asst Mgr's position or you might be out! Am I reading this right?

    Experience is what we need for PD. 100% agree. PD attracts decent players at our level with our budget, but they turn into mediocre ones over the first half of the season. He needs help from someone who knows the ropes. Maybe a "Bad Cop" and one who can spot an opportunity in a game. Great 1st post!

    Under PD, players (no matter who they have been) have lost interest by Christmas. Why is this? That is the question! Also, will PD arrest this disturbing pattern? If not we are relegated.

    He is another example of a low-end Championship/ decent League One player deteriorating over the time he has been at Boundary Park. Lee could lose a stone in weight and be much more useful to us.

    Why make it easy for the opposition and only play one way? Mix it up... Wingers/overlapping full-backs, centre-midfielders attacking or threading balls through to forwards and the odd long ball for good measure.

    I think the team now know that Baxter and Derbyshire are off and then the club will be 'in the fertilizer business' come January

    Not sure but when we had our patch of playing well recently, Latics reminded me of the successful JR team of the '90's. 2 midfielders tackling and playing the easy ball to the wingers. Might be coincidence,,,

    My point is that if we can afford the players, PD will bring value to the squad one way or the other! He can attract players of a decent level.

    Thought we played well in the 1st half but as usual we were 2nd best in the 2nd half. We put Smith on and played it long up to him. Smith gave us a different option and it proved decisive.
