  1. He will be 4th choice behind Taylor, Smalley and Purdie anyway when everyone is fit. He will be alright for a backup player
  2. Its all well and good identifing areas for improvement but the problem maybe finding a solution. DP may have been looking for a CB for months but not been able to get anyone. First of all you need to identify a player good enough to solve your problem, you need the other club to be willing to sell/loan that player, you need to be able to afford that player transfers fee and/or wages and you need that player to want to come to the club. (this is not directed at you Steve) I think some people onhere think you can just go to your local premier league club and get the next superstar for any position you require. On the note of the striker, I fairly happy with the forwards we have now we have Blackman. I think the problem is service, they are having to drop deep to collect the ball. I personally think once we have two fit (natural) wingers on the pitch we will improve in front of goal.
  3. I think we will have to wait and see with this lad as I dont really trust the Bradford fans too much - it seems a very similar situation to Eardley . I find it hard to believe they didnt see many good performances but he won player of the year a couple of years back. There is obviously issues there with him but he's a young lad who has talent and with the right manager could be a good signing.
  4. We have to take it into account Taylor isn't at 100% at the moment and we haven't been able to select Smalley or Purdie yet so we have had no natural width in midfield in any games so far and I think the forwards have struggled because of it. We have also had a lot of changes and I think it does take time for the squad/team to settle. That squad is built on very little money so you cant expect us to be winning every game. We have also have played some decent teams so far, Brentford came up but have added a lot of players, Millwall are a very strong team, Swindon are much improved on last year. Yes we should have beaten Stockport and Accrington but I do think we need to wait untill January before we make any real judgements on both Penny and the team.
  5. I actually wouldnt mind going tonight (even though the weather is :censored:e), but cant get anyone to go with me. Probably for the best, got stuff to do tonight anyway.
  6. Thats the one I was thinking about not Eaves.
  7. With Taylor not being 100% and Parker not being much of a winger what are peoples thoughts on playing 4-3-3 with Worthington, :censored: and Furman in midfield and Abbott, Parker and Blackman up front. I know that leaves us with no forwards to bring on but we could leave Taylor on the bench as a replacement forward and put Eves (or whatever he's called) on the bench. Thoughts?
  8. He was crap on sat. He tried doing a load of step overs and got tackled right in front of where I was sat and everyone just laughed at him. Thought the lad who played along side Douglas in CM was decent and the big black lad at the back but the rest of them were average at best.
  9. These are currently available CB's (according to the PFA). I dont know much about most of these but does anyone think any of them are worth a go? Philip Appiah from Preston Aaron Beech from Watford Glauber Berti from Man City Matthew Brown from Man City Ryan Carolan from Palace Maxime Chanot from Sheff United Lewis Field from Wigan Jonathan Fortune from Charlton Joshua Gowling from Carlisle Robert Hall from Donny Pierre Hall from Fulham Rahdi Jaidi from Birmingham Joe Lamplough from Hull Niall McArdle from Sunderland Danny Mills from City Samiel Sodje from Reading
  10. Abbott for me. :censored: also very good. Thought Blackman was ok, no way MOM though.
  11. He was terrible for the what, 5 minutes he was on the pitch? He didnt really have much chance to get into the game.
  12. I though both were ok today and the Rubes f**ks it up with THAT backpass.
  13. I think the main difference is that we have got decent loan signing (with decent fitness levels) this time instead of the :censored:e or 30+ year olds that had been sitting on the bench for a half a season before coming to us.
  14. Its one thing taking the piss out of united (which is great) but don't call them Munich, its damn disrepectable to people who died.
  15. Couple of Darlo fans I spoke to think very highly of him and both said they were not suprised that he was the fist player DP went to sign.
  16. I agree but I dont think its totally irrelevant. You still need a starting point.
  17. "only Villa" in the sence that he was refered too as potentially one of the best midfielder in the world. Dont you think the bigger clubs might have tried a bit harder if he was that good. Yes, £2m is way over Taylors value but you seriously think £8m is the right value for someone that is unproven outside league 1.
  18. Trust Latics to get a good home game first day of the season when I cant make it.
  19. I am the groom. If is was someone else's wedding I would be at Latics. *In terms of the date, the Avant cancelled on us so we were limited on choices for dates.
  20. I would be looking forward to it more if I could go on sat but I havent got enough time between the wedding (the church part) and the meal/reception bit.
