  1. Got my tickets this morning and they said they had sold 2712 and there was about 5 behind me waiting so i can see it selling out tomorrow.
  2. I went to college in Exeter and do a weeks work in Bournemouth each year. If the weather is nice Bournemouth is a really nice place to be, but not sre it will be in march. It is, as leeslover says, full of stunning girls and hen do's as the night life is really good. There is also a few touristy things to do with the nice beach and the bournemouth balloon. Exeter is ok but just full of student on a night out, you could tho stay in Exemouth, Dawlish or even Torquay which are local seaside towns, the weather might even be nice in April. All depends what type of night you want really. Im going to Exeter game cos i followed them a bit while i was living down there, they also play Plymouth in there local derby a few days before we play them so ill be going down for that.
  3. Obviously i told him where to go. He said that they are not suprised by there start to the season cos he new they was capable of promotion which made me laugh. Looked on the offical site and it looks like we have had a go at doing something similer but the company that we had running it for us have had a few people over in regards to the winners. Might be worth looking back in to and have the club run it, im sure we could get some volunteers to do a couple of hours a week knocking at doors and getting people to sign up. Ive looked at there website and it looks like it takes a few quid, they have a main prize which if not won rolls over and then give away around £800 each week plus matchday tickets. Id expect that they are making as much profit as they are giving away so would be making around £1000 a week which we could with.
  4. just had a guy from rochdale knock at my door asking if i wanted to sign up to there lotto. Does anyone know if latics have anything like this or exactly how it works and if it would be of any use to us?
  5. Now that i do remember well. (not the film, i meant the kung fu kick) I think the best foreigner to play over here is bergkamp his touch was absolutly brilliant and he was at the top of his game for 10 years or so while playing in the prem and that goal he scored against newcastle is one of the best goals ive ever seen.
  6. Sorry to talk about red scum on here but i watched the film 'looking for eric' last night and was wondering if he really is as good as the scum say he was. I was only in my early teens when he was playing so dont remember him that well. I remember thinking he was different class at the time but was that just cos he was one of the first flare players to come over here from europe? I know he was good but scum fans say he was the best ever forigner to play over here. Was he really better than the likes of Zola, Henry and Bergkamp or do i just remember them a lot better?
  7. I think iw would make a difference. If a say 15ft fence was to be put on top the wall in the lookers and painted with fans or even a latics badge at each end and keep the faith across it, it would enclose the ground and create a bit more of an atmosphere. If it was to cost £2000 we would only need an extra 4 fans a game over the next seasons to cover the cost of it. I think with an inclosed ground and a beter atmosphere a few fans will come back.
  8. The only reason i can think of why they have to exchange them for tickets is say there was a dodgy guy working on the turnstiles, he could take 20 vouchers with him to the game and when a fan pays the normal £20 cash entrance fee he puts a voucher in the till and pockets the other £10. I agree these vouchers should be distributed to a wider area, i live in middleton and other than going to a game never hear or see anything in local papers about latics and im only 2 miles from bp.
  9. If we took the money for 5 year season tickets now and invested it and the crowds didnt improve we would have very little income to support the club for the next 5 years which would leave us in a really bad position plus dont think many people would part with almost £1500 not knowing if the club will still be here then.
  10. ive only been to a couple of games so far so would be going off report from other people but didnt he sign his new deal just after the notts county game? Maybe he was just playing his socks to get the new deal?
  11. what are the rules on clubs betting on themselves to be promoted? Could we offer a deal on ST's where if we get promoted you recieve a free ST the following season. we are currently 16/1 at coral to be promoted, i think it was 33/1 at the start of the season. If the club was to put £10 at the start of the season from each season ticket sale on us to be promoted it would cover the cost of a ST the following season if we did. If that was done for all 2000 ST's sold this season the club would be £20,000 out of pocket so would need to sell an extra 75 ST's to make up that money which i think could easily be done. I would imagine the football league might not allow us to place money on ourselves getting promoted if they dont wouldnt would there be any way round it? maybe the trust could buy the tickets and do the offer for members.
  12. My girlfriend is a portsmouth fan and comes to quite a few games and i have a few mates who are utd fans that come to games, one who comes 4 or 5 every season and they all try to get involved in the atmospere and want us win. I dont think any of them would wear utd colours to the game and dont think anyone should but they should be more than welcome to come and spend there money and cheer the team on.
  13. It was suggested a few years ago (not sure if it was just on here or not) about moving away fans to the chaddy end but a lot of chaddy enders didnt like the idea but it seems a lot have moved there now so maybe views will be different. I know it would cost more to attend every game paying on the day. I meant that some ST holders would complain at paying £280 for there ticket then them being sold of a lot cheaper after just 4 home games. I remember when i was in school and every now and then we would get free tickets handed out for games. I think this should happen a lot more because kids are more likely to come if they have a ticket in there hand than just reading in the paper thats its free in.
  14. How about selling off season tickets for the rest of this season at a massively discounted price (say £150) to anybody who signs up to buy one at full price for next season. I know a lot off season tickets holders would not be happy because we have had to pay full price but at the end of the day its the survival of the club that is most impotant. As for the atmospherei think that the ground only having 3 sides plays a big part, its to open. could they not have some type of advertising boards put up there to make it more enclosed? also the chaddy end was really the only place with much of an atmosphere but since home fans have been able to sit in the RRE there as been little or no atmosphere. Would it be worth just using the RRE for away fans? it would save a bit of money as well.
  15. why not ask the boundry blues members if they want it for a small fee, say £5 for 3 items.
  16. 1, Im not a massive fan, i share a season ticket cos i cant make every game due to work but go to as many as possible and get to quiet a few away games as well. 2, Want utd to win 3, It all depends on the game. If we played well or not, if we lost cos of ref blunder. Usually dissapointed until the booze starts taking over then i forget about it till the morning. 4, Its got to be the result but it i think at away games you always want it to be a good day out. 5, I would support Al-Qaeda for £1,000,000 6, no
  17. Im not going myself but think we will take about 400. They have done well holding on to boyd, he would get in to most, if not all championship sides and with Mackail-smith and Mclean there will always be goals in them. To be honest i will be delighted with a point but think we might struggle although my heart is saying we will sneak it 1-0.
  18. Does anyone know the prices for kids today? I know they have been free in the chaddy end the past coupl of games but what about in the main stand? sorry duplicate post
  19. Things arn't good? Ill admit they are not a perfect but we have had one of the best pre season i can remember, the team is playing some really good football under what looks like a really good manager, the season as been budgeted for and if the peformances continue then fans will start to come back. We could be in a far worse position than we are in.
  20. prob more like it. lol. I do think we would take quite a few tho. out my group of mates there is 3 that go to games but about 7 are latics fans and then a think a few city and utd mates would come for the day out and i think a lot of fans would take the wife and kids for the day out. they all come out the woodwork for a big game.
  21. I agree, it would be a brilliant day out for the fans. Think southampton took 45,000 last year. What do you think we would take if we got there. I'd say around 25-30,000
  22. Marlon King released today from prison. Should he be allowed back in to football and would you have him at latics? I think everybody deserves a second change but this guy as got crimanal record as long my arm so im sat on the bench at the minute. I didnt really want Hughes at first he proved me wrong after while.
  23. He is a free agent, he turned a new deal at northampton down then was meant to sign for southend but they couldnt afford his wages.
