Sigh. At least play along a little. Whats the point of the club going to such lengths of dressing Crofty up and taking a picture if all you do is poo poo it as an April fool within the first few minutes. :shakeit:

Admittedly the dressing up of Crofty for that pic wouldn't need much or take that long...

Sorry I'm obsessed with not getting caught by April Fooks ever since the spaghetti tree!

  2. Yes perhaps they could go for " responsible capitalism" or " one nation socialism" ...or come up with a gimmick like a Edstone. If they want to be really radical what about" nuclear submarines without the nuclear"

Seriously though You are right about attacking Osbourne....that is merely doing IDS's and the out campaigns job for them. A Tory leadership election is likely in the Autumn. Why are Labour getting involved in that? do they realise they are? I was always taught as a Cricket captain to do exactly what the opposition would not want me to do. That should be Labour policy

The story goes that lots of Tories registered to vote in the Labour leadership election in the (probably correct) belief that Corbyn couldn't win a general election. Let's hope the Tories go for Johnson or Osbourne to make it a fair fight. Choosing between those two vicious bastards almost makes you pine for Thatcher.

    Not really.

But if there is a retrial, he could theoretically get more time than he got first time round.

No he couldn't. Retrials after conviction are not allowed to impose greater sentences than originally imposed. The sentence could only have been increased if the crown had appealed the original sentence was unduly lenient. They didn't.

  4. Depending on the reasons for the acquittal, the CPS could be allowed to re-trial it.

To those talking about compensation, he can claim for loss of earnings but there is a cap on this at £500,000.

Do you honestly think the CPS are going to go through the time, effort and cost of a re-trial not to mention the trauma for all concerned, particularly the alleged victim, when whatever the outcome he'll walk out of court at the end of it. It's not going to happen.

  5. Thank you for your well thought out and superbly presented contribution to the topic which quite obviously illustrates no bias whatsoever.

Woah! Displaying bias towards OAFC on a OAFC message board. I blame Iain Duncan Smith the hypocritical Tory scumbag. That's displaying socialist bias on the message board of a football club based in a town that routinely elects socialist MP's by the way.

  6. Any suggestion that we'd be doing better with Murphy in the team at the minute than either Main or Holloway is silly, in my humble opinion.

I'm not sure agreeing is allowed on this forum but I'll give it a go. Murphy's goal record suggests he may have scored one maybe two in the games Holloway and Main have played. However his complete inability to maintain possession (unlike Holloway) and close down defenders (unlike Main) mean the ball would have spent considerably more time in our penalty box meaning we almost certainly would have conceded more. They've both been instrumental in our improvement.
