  1. Lets be sensible here. There is no way the club would consider letting him go if they didn't think they were going to get a return out of him this year be it appearances or goals. He has obviously been assessed in pre-season and consider the fact that he only joined in full training less than a week ago I think its a no brainer to take a fee for someone who could have been released for nothing 4 weeks back. You have to weigh up the probabilities and IMO its a no brainer to take the cash.
  2. Any words from Darren Kelly on the game last night?
  3. I thought we started very brightly, showing lots of attacking intent with many numbers in the opposition half and attacking the edge of their box early on. It was refreshing to see so much rotation amongst the top 3/4 players with Poleon and Green causing problems with their switching of positions. I think these 2 could have a big season; agreed that both will make wrong decisions 5/10 times but that is the reason why they are with us in League 1 and not Leeds and Everton. Both are still very young but you ask the opposition which 2 players caused them the most problems last night and I would have a very good guess they would say Green and Poleon. It was good to see Liam Kelly also getting beyond the ball and supporting our attacking play. I think what is going to be important for us if we are to start games with that much attacking intent is to get that goal in the first 15 cause once Bolton settled in lets be honest we chased the ball for the next 75 minutes with Pratley and Feeney in particular showing their class. I thought the whole back 4 looked out of sorts Gunning in particular who may turn good once he is fit but he seems a very long way off that point IMO. I thought Mills struggled also and it was evident to see that B.Wilson was playing under pressure with the amount of times he gave the ball away. I think the signs are there that we wont be as predictable with the ball like we were under LJ and DH last season - it make take 10 games or so though for us to really find a rhythm but in the mean time we need to shape up defensively. On Saturday I would like to see us win more of our individual battles as I think that's where we fell short most last night. Turner and Winchester for me had very quiet games.....
  4. So at the moment we have: Forte, Poleon, Cassidy, Murphy, Turner, Philliskirk That's 6 pro's who can all play up front. Probably in terms of numbers one of the largest in league 1. I fancy Turner to have a good season if he can stay fit.....Also hearing Murphy is looking a different player since returning to pre-season so I am hoping we will see the best of him this year. I don't envisage Forte or Philli playing CF too much but both can reliably called upon should they be needed. I do however expect Cassidy to be one of the first names on the team sheet initially - Poleon I can see occupying a wide role or possibly the role of an impact playe? Do we have enough firepower and who do you fancy to be our top marksmen?
  5. Free no no BnQ ROH £2 NO is it wrong I am this excited for a friendly?!
  6. He will be signing. Lives not far from Walsall also I'm told so he will save fuel on the first game ;-)
  7. Gunning and now Addison are the 2 CB on trial - both playing tomorrow
  8. Gunning , miles Addison and Cornell all to play tomorrow but none have signed yet.
  9. Neither Gerrard or Addison are on trial or training with us
  10. There is no way Liam Kelly will be in our line up for this game. He will be long gone
  11. Shouts of Mediocre so far for me. Nothing inspiring from DK yet...
  12. Latest one doing the rounds is Mark Bunn - Keeper released by Norwich. Didn't he used to play for Blackburn so possibly accustomed to the Lancashire area.
  13. Wouldn't surprise me if we do. New manager is obviously a fan of youth - mellor is extremely versatile and could be a very useful member of our squad - especially considering the expected departures.
  14. will we be having one next season?
  15. can fans gain access to today's press conference?
  16. This could be the one that bites Simon on the arse, I'm praying it turns out to be a master stroke but the reality is that it's ridiculously underwhelming and kills any positive momentum we had going re the new stand!
  17. I like Dieng - I think we were at our strongest all season with him alongside Wilson. He also gives us height and presence when in CM, just seems to always be the substitute scapegoat.
  18. Guisley! I think maybe he will force a move on the pretence of "not settling" up North.
  19. out of the current crop - who do you think will be still here come the start of next season and who do you think will be moved on. MOVING ON: Kelly - probably to Barnsley J.Wilson - as above Forte - as above Mills - maybe as above! Lockwood - either released or retired to coaching position Bove - released Dieng - released Murphy - sold Hope I'm wrong!
  20. I can't understand why, when the last few weeks we have had nothing to play for we have still been including the likes of Gerrard, Woodland and Keane in the squad? Surely it would be more beneficial to give our own contracted players a chance and younger lads? Unless these loanees are being eyed up for a permanent deal?
