  1. First half excellent, just needed an extra spark in and around their box and we would have prob stuck another couple in. Second half we went backs to the wall too early, invited the pressure and almost paid for it, overall a very solid display all around and most importantly a display that earned 3 points. Thought Smith set the tempo brilliantly from kick off and had a fantastic start to the game, looked a pen to me but one of those that arent always given but we should have had another anyway. Kasunga had an impressive game too and Millar looked sharper than usual when he came on too, good to have some genuine competition for places and some good football at BP. Bring on Wolves
  2. Have been one not to get carried away with Tarky but he was superb tonight. Grounds deserves a mention too, very good performance but need to be converting performances to points
  3. Dont think you'll get too much protest against that line up
  4. which was strange to me as the ref had a fantastic view of the incident and gave nothing
  5. I'm just not sure i see this vision of him playing at a higher/ highest level. Was caught out alot against a better class of opposition in Derby (who wernt even at full strength). Yes he's looked good against some teams at this level but wouldnt get too carried away just yet
  6. Think Tarky has been subject of some harsh critism and some undeserved praise at different points over the last year. If he plays like he did today then he looks like a solid proposition but its all about consistency ( as well as proving he can read the game well enough to deal with anyone with genuine pace). Some good signs today though, hopefully a sign of things to come
  7. The team looked to have good balance with Jose on the bench. Undoubtably has amazing talent for this level but im not convinced he should come back into the team after an attacking team effort like that was today
  8. This is about right i'd say. Only thing i didnt like was the mentality we slipped into when 2-1 up though, felt like injury time the way we were just scrambling clear when we needed to calm down and take control of the game. Need the 3rd goal and it took all the stuffing out of them, we relaxed and saw the game out very impressivly. Clearly still some defensive issues to sort out but a lot of positives to take out of today compared to very few against Walsall last time
  9. Its the theatrics and wanting to be centre of attention I can do without. He was a clown
  10. While some of the critics might be correct he cant really be judged coming on as sub against a side in a higher division who at that point had control of the game
  11. We struggled to make an impact down the middle. First half down the flanks we looked very dangerous but ran out of ideas and puff. Derby did their job just needed a goal to put the cat amongst the pigeons. If thats one of the best games Tarky will have then we wont keep a clean sheet all year. Happy to take the positives of the first half away though, trying to football and be bright and should be more effective against League One opposition
  12. Why single out Mellor on this though. Tarky getting MOM was one of the most laughable decisions ive seen
  13. If you would like to make a donation then make one. Why force people to contribute to a particular charitable cause? Im not saying it isnt a worthwhile charity but people can make their own decisions about who they wish to donate to and personally i would rather any donation i make go elsewhere at not at the whim of the club. I also agree with the poster who said its not right to view this as a PR oppertunity as that not only forces a donation but a cynical one at that. So its a no from me
  14. These are the same players that got a LOT of stick while they were here. O'Grady was called useless every week despite getting no service what so ever (i got slated anytime I suggested he was actually a decent player). JJ was another the crowd didn't really get behind as he was unpredictable, excellent one minute awful the next but none of these players had enough support. Polls like this are generally pointless but this one even more so, players come and go, they don't work out for a variety of reasons, just because they have gone onto to better things elsewhere doesn't mean they would have made the same progression if they would have stayed. This sort of nostalgia to what we had is part of the problem we have in the present when these players in the poll were here people were probably making polls asking how many Carlo Corrazin and Clyde Wijnhard would score if they were still here! Forget about irrelevancies such as the above and concentrate on what we have now
  15. It's a big 3 points but its against a team that hasn't won for a month clearly lacking in confidence. The performance sounds encouraging though and momentum is a big thing in this league, need to remain behind the team and we'll hopefully get our rewards. If nothing else we cam have a day or two off from 'get him sacked'
  16. Makes sense that the sell on clause will have been bought out, Citeh would presumably tried to buy out the clause on more than one occasion and given our financial history the lure of a lump sum woud surely have been very tempting somewhere along the line
  17. Yea what was shown wasn't good but wouldn't be so quick to go over the top saying its a true representation, remember its a documentary and no documentary is unbiased, if it wants to paint a picture of somewhere being the worst place on Earth it will. Yea there are problems that need to be addressed but these are big countries with big populations and a documentary on a minority should not be the only thing you base your views on. If the London Olympics where prefixed with a half hour video on the riots would you say it looked like a desireable/ safe place to host an event?
  18. I'm a fan of Martinez but Wigan dont deserve a Prem League club, piss poor support and will be out of the league when Martinez moves onto bigger and better things me thinks
  19. Fair enough if you want to come back, don't know who you are or the ins and outs of what happened but I remember you used to just persistly comment mostly nonsense over every thread, hopefully that will change upon return.
  20. Chesterfield 1-3 Torquay Oldham 5-2 Chesterfield Chesterfield 0-1 Sheff Utd Preston 1-1 Chesterfield Wycombe 3-2 Chesterfield Chesterfield 1-1 Walsall Huddersfield 1-0 Chesterfield Scunthorpe 2-2 Chesterfield Chesterfield 1-1 Oldham Chesterfield 0-2 Exeter Leyton Orient 1-1 Chesterfield I hope Latics dont go on one of your winning streaks! they were 11 games and two months without a win before playing Latics in the JPT! My point was we should have been going to Wembley, not if we actually deserved to over the two legs. We should have had enough about us to get past a team bottom of the league on a 'winning streak' such as this, ultimatly we didnt and the reasons why needed to be lucked at as it wasnt/isnt that Chesterfield are a better side than us
  21. It transpired that we got beat but we should have got to Wembley. Chesterfield were rock bottom and the majority of fans wanted shez out, we were playing the better football at the time and it wasnt even particularily anything that Chesterfield did that put them through it was our own mistakes, so just because we didnt get there doesnt mean we shouldnt have
