Plus our transition from defence to attack is non existent. We have an unhealthy knack of making EVERY team we play look good. Not sure how this is going to pan out, but it won't be good.

So we sign a new midfielder, in order to control the play. Yet spend all afternoon launching high balls over midfield aimed at the front two, ultimately to be gobbled up by defenders. We are screaming out for someone to look after the ball in midfield, and bring our midfield and forward players into the game.

I never mentioned Kewell. Under Joe Royle, we had the best spell that we have ever had, and for the most part were terrific to watch.

But should professional footballers not have the basics of passing the ball to someone in a blue shirt as a given. And why do our midfield players spend all afternoon looking up at the sky, whilst our defenders launch balls over the top of them, to our front men, and completely bypass them ?.

Joe Royle must be spitting feathers watching us. His style was light years away from what he sees from the North stand. His teams played with the belief, that they would score more than the opposition. He would have dragged kitching off after 15 minutes, played 3 at the back, flooded midfield with blokes who could look after the ball, and pick a pass that would actually reach one of our own forwards. Who would be facing their goal, not ours. It's totally frustrating watching Latics at the minute, and has been for this manager, and the last one. And yes, I appreciate that double M has got a plan, but surely, it doesn't include boring us to death, and frustrating the life out of us.

I also think that Double M will get it right. And I am not overreacting by calling that performance, by both players and manager bloody awful.

Just got home, and there is still steam coming from my ears. That was bloody awful. As bad as anything in the league for the last 2 seasons. We made football look like the most difficult game in the world to play, shambolic doesn't come close. Did we have a game plan ?, if we did I have no idea what it was. We kept hoofing it upfield, for it to come straight back at us, and just like lots of other teams this season Woking absolutely passed us to death. We just don't seem to have any players in our team, who can just pass and go, and have genuine class with the ball at their feet. I think that double M should take a look at himself regarding the way that we set up. Having Kitching playing pretty much as a winger, and having the nightmare of all nightmares whilst doing so, whilst Walker ? who would have been far better suited to that role sat in the dugout for most of the game. Niether could I see any sense in playing Mc ghahe at all. All in all, the whole team had a shocker. Man of the match our keeper, just for the save he made when one on one with their striker. Well done Woking, you were way better than us.
