BB80 by no stretch of the imagination was McD the worst player on thepitch, clean your glasses fella - Smalley was poor and shud have been off a lot sooner, Kilkenny did nothing other than give the ball away. Those two shud ahve been the first two off before anyone else.

Smalley has the talent, he needs to add a bit more of the work ethic into his game and get his foot in where it hurts; that added to his obvious talent he has all the makings and the goals will come - he's just overeager now knwoing hes missed a few sitters. Agree though he should ahve been brought off not McDonald or Hughes as it just wasnt the lads day. Wasnt given a chance? Nonsense Sheridan played him when he was playing badly and his goal return was what 2 goals- one was a bloody penalty as well? There was his chance, he failed miserably in scoring goals, he hardly ever looked interested. Same service Davies has scored 6; okay he has missed a fair few but no more than Ricketts and at least he has been in positions to miss them unlike Ricketts. I personally had no problem with Ricketts but after seeing so many lacklustre performances from him then he needed to be benched , if he cant accept that and threw his expensive toys out of the pram then good riddance; the manager does what he must for the team. The team is in a hole and needs to battle it's way out of it collectively, it needs grafters not players full of their own self-importance. The figures dont lie Ricketts failed as striker for the club; Warne wasnt the most prolific but at least he tried for the team - Ricketts had/has no redeeming features as a player for this club.

Maybe because we cant score a goal - something Ricketts could not help us with in the games he played. Lets not raise Ricketts to something he wasnt, a striker is meant to score goals he didnt and most of the time never even tried to get where he had the opportunity so stop bleating on about poor hard done to Ricketts he never earned his money in a blue shirt of Oldham. In skimming through the document - the one thing I have picked out is the Highways Agencies "Holding Direction" which requires the Local Planning Authority to hold any decision on the on the proposal for a period of 2 months from the 9th September to allow more time to assess it. I havent been the biggest Ricketts fan, but last night I thought he had a good game and showed what he can do, he was to me much more interested that on saturday and by no way should be slagged off on that performance - who was applauded when he went off. I was surprised he went off and not Davies for WOlfie as Davies had lost it due to te ref being diabolical - though his theatrics were a bit much at times. Anyway why the hell are we slagging anyone in the team off after last nites performance against a Leeds team that will go up,a nd it wouldnt surprise me if they are champions. I have taken my two lads a few times now , eldest was 5 when i took him, the other 3 - they were okay till about half time then wanted to go home. They have actually been to games with a fair few number of goals the few times they have been and we have won One thing I found out , was take food to bribe them to sit still for a bit when they get bored - but dont give it them all at once, space it out so u can get them to sit still with bribery every time they fidget. The toilet trips are a necessary evil though - luckily so far not missed a goal. Get them taken, you need to keep the brainwashing up; my missus is waiting for the day when i take them both to away games as well

I have heard the same story but from the otherside of the fence as mymate knows the Drummer boys mother - story i heard was that the fella whom went to the cop shop gave the lad a clip around the ear - hence his visit to thecop shop! THis was a while ago though, before end of season. As forthe drummer - well he adds to the atmosphere sometimes, but at times is a noisy nuisance - just glad i dont sit near him

I do not feel sorry for Pogs one bit - he gets paid to do his job; his delicate confidence should not be costing us goals or games. If it does I am sorry Les but your a liability and do not deserve your place in the team. Crossley has been brought in as number one and will stay there. There cant be many non-confident aussies must there be in the world - somehow we have one of the only few as our goalkeeper. I ddi think it was just Ronnie Moore who shot Les's confidence, and his early performances were superb, a new Les came back - one who commanded the area and came out for crosses etc - so coupled with his superb shot stopping ability he was set. However when a few things went wrong for him it was head in hands job - the game where he went off at half time was bad - i wouldnt mind it wasnt all his fault, a lot of the fault was down to his centre-halves - but he stood and took the blame , when he shud have told Gregan to f* off and pull his lazy arse together. For me that is the reason why he shud not be our keeper, hes not a young kid who's learning his trade anymore - the time has been and gone now - he for me has had his chips at Latics.

Shez will get the best out of him - an ex-England international, still only 28 - at this level he will be superb. Hess a big lad and can hold the ball up - with Davies and Wolfie buzzing around feeding off his hold up ; for me a quality signing indeed. When Hughes gets fit and match sharp that will be a nice striking quartet for sure. It's comnig together now - a LB and another midfielder or two and we are set fo that title bid now.

I doubt its Kilkenny with the term Senior player - I am going to go for Stefan Stam or Richie Wellens. In terms of a brand new face then I'll go for Greer

Since when does rubbish = lying? not in my vocabulary; if i thought they were lying I would say so. Rubbish is nonsense/worthless information - which is what yesterdays story was about Berger. The reason i state that is why would the official site come out with a story about Berger if the deal was not imminent? Previous experience in the clubs offcial communications has been to only come out with something when it was an imminent deal - which is how they do it, you get the first message up of new signinng imminent and then the who it is. So why was their tried and trusted route not followed on this occasion? Why come out with something which was so far away from a deal it wasnt even worth mentioning! They had spoke to the club - which can by a 5 second phonecall or it can be a few hours meeting - had they spoken to the player - would he even want to drop down to League 1? There would have been so many things to sort out before it shoudl have come out on the official site - they never got past the first hurdle did they; so why change their previous system of transsfer information. Hey like the majority of people i was excited by the news and given the precedent set by the club I felt the deal would have been a hell of a lot nearer than it was. If they had said they coudlnt agree a deal with the player then fine at least they had the intial deal and permission from the club - but they hadn't even got that had they, so again why the hell woudl you come out with such a statement other than as a PR excercise. It was all over the news and radio and taken from the official site - it was bound to get picked up nationally; so unless you were sure of a deal then why would state it officially as it was bound to cause headlines - which may have been the whole purpose. Did i say they lied? nope - i said it was rubbish. They were nowhere near signing Berger than you or I ringing Aston VIlla up and asking about signing him for the Dog & Duck. What i was pointing out is that the club/official site are suddenly being very open in whom they are trying to sign - when previosuly under the same regime they would not tell you diddly squat for which you reasoning you could understand. Also they have seemed to suddenly find money for transfers - another move away from where they have been in recent times; its not like we are the biggest best supported club is it. Yeah right after yesterdays rubbish I dont believe what the official site says at all. TTA have continually said we wont state anything aobut transfers till its done - thats gone out of the window, the other one has been they dont go paying for players - so where has this money suddenly come from where we are going bidding for players, whether its Allott or Craig Davies or THierry Henry. IF its true great but i doubt it more PR posturing from the fishal site
