  1. I would imagine that including PAYE; Tax; Fringe benefits; Insurance etc, JP Kalala costs Latics considerably more than £70k per annum. I know it isn't increasing revenue but it certainly would be cost reduction particularly if Shez has no plans to play him. If we can't offload him, then sending him out on loan would recoup some of that outlay. Same for Wolfy. I'm sure the Club are already looking at this though!
  2. Sky Channel 525 Mounted Branch - Animal Planet Channel
  3. All we need is 1000 of those stay-aways to turn up just once this Season and the drop in income will be neutralised. That's just 50 extra per League game or thereabouts. Hopefully, a new Sponsor can be found - and we can add to the average gate. That may give TTA a bit more of a warm feeling as they continue to dip their hands into their pockets to subsidise our Club. With the investment this closed season, they have been doing their bit and I can understand entirely why OAFC are looking for a bit of support from the local public. For us, they are preaching to the converted but we can probably all do our bit to encourage those who have stopped going to turn up again once in a while.
  4. Fair point Diego. Generally, we don't like merging threads when they are over 5 posts as things can get confusing. It probably should have been done sooner but it makes sense to merge them now.
  5. Ryder & Dutton were subject to a hoax recently where someone claimed they had goine into Liquidation. The article is below. Latics Director Ian Hill is a Partner at Ryder & Dutton I believe.
  6. I'm not saying that this has been rigged but apparently, Gordon has got all 6 places on the Tasting Panel. :drinking45: :drinking45: :drinking45:
  7. The Chron reports that we are trying to arrange another friendly game for a week on Wednesday. Also, sad news at the end regarding Gretna that nobody will have been expecting.
  8. I'm no expert Johnny but it sounds like your processor. If it is, then it should be reparable and I'm sure someone more qualified will tell you how. May be expensive though. After a few problems with my old laptop (like yours 6 years old and so single processor), I decided to get a new one a couple of weeks ago. Best thing I ever did as a machine with a dual processor is massively quicker and makes using it a whole lot more pleasurable. The difference in watching back Laticsworld videos and all sorts of other stuff is immense. I used to think my Broadband connection was the thing that affected download quality but it wasn't - the new lap-top has proved that. Ripping CDs takes less time now and as it's a dual processor, you can also be doing other stuff at the same time without any slow down. You don't need to spend a fortune these days to get something decent.
  9. Very professional performance with even hard-to-please coach Daniel Anderson applauding several of the superb tries. The real stars though were the group of about 10 Quins fans who never stopped supporting their team from kick off until after the MOM Presentation was made to the outstanding Leon Pryce. I bet you were cheering on the Pies as well Matt on Friday night? One of the best games that I've seen for a long time with drama right until the final kick with Rob Burrow missing a penalty that would have won it for The Rhinos. Meanwhile, League 2 has been blown apart today. The previously unbeaten Barrow Border Raiders lost at Hunslet () while The Roughyeds scored a last gasp try to beat Workington by a couple of points up in Cumbria. Makes it very tight at the top and any one of three (Barrow, Oldham and Gateshead Thunder) could win the division. Doncaster Lakers may have a chance too as they have games in hand and their game with Oldham is live on Sky in the coming weeks.
  10. You may have a point. In December, Hughes scored 8 goals I think and didn't even make Sky's shortlist for player of the month. The 4 candidates up for the award were strikers who had scored between 2 and 5 goals apiece. Nobody could convince me that his omission was anything other than deliberate. Not related to Latics but have a look back how many times Franchise FC have been shown live in the last couple of years. Sky have their own private agenda when it comes to showing live games from the lower Leagues which is sad for the many clubs who miss out on extra money.
  11. Apparently, the number of "pips" have been "smartened up" but the name ranks and number of posts required to move up the list have remained unaltered.
  12. Hmmmmmmm Something seems to have changed. Will report back when I find out what has happened.
  13. Goodnight and God bless Ernie. Rest in Peace. Sincere condolences to Louise, his family and friends. The World has lost a true character and and outstanding person. He will be sadly missed by all.
  14. A slight exaggeration mate however my driving style now has lead me to consider purchasing a tweed cap and driving jacket with shiny elbow patches.
