The road is pretty clear. The transfer window closing will mean that Byrne will need to come to terms with the fact that he either plays in League Two or doesn’t play at all. If he’s still here, maybe he will apologise, train hard, re-integrate with OAFC management and players and go on to make a difference to the first team. It’s the best way of putting himself in the shop window and perhaps he will get what he wants in January. He has brought all this on himself through his petulant antics here and at other clubs.
