  1. Because Davies is a much better manager than Bothroyd and has a far greater chance of getting a job at a Championship club.
  2. Ah, my mistake. If you look up the definition of bottler in the dictionary, there's a picture of Roy Keane. He's also a gob:censored:e arsehole. I dislike him more than anyone in football, barring maybe Luis Suarez.
  3. Is that the basis on which we're looking to hire managers now? "Well, you can't do any worse. You're hired". The man - bar one season in which he had the biggest budget in the Championship by a fair distance - is a proven failure, and the reason why Ipswich are doing as badly as they are right now. If Dickov does go we need someone to steady the ship and get us some consistency, not exacerbate things further...
  4. Does anyone actually know where this name came from? (I'm sure there's an obvious and well known reason for it that I'm completely oblivious to). Pine Villa sounds more like the name of someone's holiday home on the Costa Del Sol
  5. The island. We could've bought the entire Greek island of Rhodes for the same price as Colbeck. Penney
  6. I'll never forget the moment I found out we'd released him. I immediately broke down in tears, and was inconsolable for weeks. I still have a framed picture of the great man in my house which I look at for inspiration in my darkest hours. I'll never forget you Joe.
  7. The first half of that season we played the best football I've seen us play in my time watching Latics. I have no idea why we tailed off like we did, it was just as if we ran out of steam. On Moore, there is nothing to suggest from his time here or since he's left the club that he would've got us promoted. Literally nothing. I don't know why this is even still a discussion.
  8. Well I'm not sure what competative means, but I'm hoping for an entertaining game.
  9. It's not been great, but it's been far from depressing. Don't be so melodramatic.
  10. Can we have some more songs to the tune of Sloop John B too? I LOVE IT
  11. With a decent squad, in a league which is the poorest I can ever remember it being, I'd say definitely not. I'm not going to go overboard and say it's good enough to reach the play-offs but this squad, with or without the recent additions, should be more than good enough to be at least comfortably mid-table. And I say this as someone who has been pro-Dickov this season. More than anything we need some consistency, most teams in this division will have off days but ours are still far to frequent.
  12. In fairness, that pie Prozac posted does have a criminal record. For Pieracy
  13. Ah, maybe that was just a rumour then. Either way, I think it's a tie they very much want to avoid. Especially as it will be at Stadium MK.
  14. I seem to remember them saying last time round that the club would completely boycott the game as they don't want to acknowledge MK Dons as a football club. Unfortunately this would inevitably lead to the FA taking action against them.
  15. Such is the emphasis on health and safety in this country now (and rightly so) it is pretty much improbable that a Hillsborough type disaster would ever occur again. Indeed, the lessons learnt from that disaster would ensure nothing like that happens again. I'd love it to return. The atmosphere's at football matches in this country are quite frankly depressing, and it simply isn't that enjoyable an experience anymore for the amount of money we're being extorted for. I actually feel jealous watching the Bundesliga and seeing the experience the fans get (at a lower price than League One fans are paying in many cases). Compared to sitting on my arse in an atmosphere akin to that of a graveyard...
  16. That's what Brian Kerr called his son apparently.
