  1. How about pre-prem.....or just in general you favorite. off the top of my little merry head..hic..... Ron Futcher - first striker I saw demolish an advertising board at the chaddy end going for goal and got up and shook it off. Denis Irwin - best full back in the country at the time and a mean free kicker too. Earl Barrett - fastest defender in the country. I believe he could run 100 meters near 10 seconds. Never forget when an opposition player tried to outrun him and he ran out of pitch into the metal fencing infront of the chaddy - ouch Ricky Holden - just cause he was cheeky. FA semi reply against Man utd. He took a throw in - no-one in a blue shirt wanted it so he rolled it off the back of the Man utd player who just kicked it out and was running away - LOL Frankie Bunn - just the 6 goal record says it all Tommy Wright - smallest person on the pitch at Maine rd to score two goals with his head against city Roger Palmer - because he always seem to be sliding in from the half way line to get them in even on the plastic pitch Andy Goram - Cocky goalie he was but he almost scored a goal at BP on a windy night and forced a great save from the opposite number one. In fact - the entire 89-90 squad for me. What they did that season was remarkable. And one for sheer atmosphere - Playing Liverpool in a Milk Cup round. I think we drew at Anfield but got stuffed at home 5-2. Seeing the likes of Ian Rush, Craig Johnstone, Bruce Grobbleaar, Jan Molby. Seeing the Chaddy realising the class on that pitch to even clap their goals and seeing those Players coming to the chaddy end at the time to clap us too. awwwwwwwwwwwwww memories. Don't be thinking I see anything like that again for awhile....I can only hope.
  2. welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.......after a little dinksy last night...hic...., I decided Tangerinedreams needed to see my old latics programmes from 20 odd years ago. Unfotunatley, they were at the back of a "cupboard of doom" and I chucked a load of boxes, garden tools, vac, decorating gear and almost the Chrimbo tree too, into the middle of the living room. I did find them and awwww.......it was a great night, however, this morning - the living room looked like a tornado had unleashed itself. So, I have spent most of the day putting the stuff back in the cupboard (minus chrimbo tree as the 8 footer is gonna be out again soon anyway) With the tornado firmly embedded in my brain instead (hangovers don't you love em...) Meanwhile, tangerinedreams avoided the disaster zone by having to fix the bloomin car. I don't know who got off the worse en of the deal......lol Roll on tomorrow...I canna wait "c'mon Oldham give Tangerinedreams his first home win EVER............."
  3. Many thanks everyone for your thoughts. There have been many interesting points of view with regards to the effects of a late KO time and of course it now being live over the internet and the knock on effect on attendances Glad us latics fans have varied points of views that makes us unique "C'mon you blues.......keep us winning and see you at the games"
  4. Yes I scaremonger that much that I will be on my broomstick tomorow night too....ooooooo. If you care to READ my original post, I asked if the KO time had put people off. I did not mention any scary stuff/scaremongering, I was just curious if it had. It was then other fans who posted their reasons for going not going. Yes you are around for the right time of year aren't you ghost......if you are going to accuse me...accuse me correctly please.
  5. Yes its so laughable isn't it. The saftey of fans. That's why if you read the comments above, most people who usually take youngsters are not going too. That will also include my partner and I who usually take three children all under 11's with us. Loss of revenue for the club. Yes laughable indeed.
  6. I just knew you would respond Beardy...in like Flynn eh!!!......lol hope it works for you both if you can't make it
  7. I don't know however, I have heard that someone is going to patch their PC into the TV for a better picture fo all the family to see. He is though a Leeds fan so he may totally crash the national grid an blow up his house Hopefully, one of the webmasters on here can help or another expert, will ask the ball an chain when I speak to him next as he uses a PS3. TBA
  8. well....after you tsunami prediction...he may not have, or he may have a balcony with a sea view...hmmmmmmmmmmm Lets hope its a good one...bring your singing voice
  9. Well you have obviously been to BP...all are odds on except for the Tsunami as Oldham is quite high up altitude wise and flooding won't be an option. But hey on a positive give or take a few million years after global warming - Olham could be the captial of whats left in England and could very well host the world cup.... Bring it on... So you coming to the game then?
  10. Were we not the 1st team to sell a £1million pound teenager? Wayne Harrison to Liverpool who went on to do absolutely nothing for them
  11. No my lovely Husband....your right...its on the leeds website too... are you thinking we need another loanee from Blackburn to give our no 1 a little healthier competition?
  12. I have been reading one or two comments on Facebook with regards to the kick off time for this game and the knock on effect of all afternoon drinking for some/both sets of fans Has it put you off going to the game? or even bringing any kiddies with you if you usually do that is. Do you think our attendance will decrease or increase in home fans that is. Your thoughts guys....
  13. 1990 wembley team piccie after the game taken just behind the pegs were our fans were. The team were gutted but the fans behind team were so proud. A thousand different facial expressions in one piccie. Priceless... same year Tommy Wright in tears when we missed out in the tossing play offs - the first year it was introduced. The first team ever to finish third and NOT get automatically promoted. Oh yes...any piccie with Paul Warhurst or Earl Barrett's legs in them. Well, i was a teenage girl then.
  14. excellent...which pub are we starting in and when???. Before, during and after the game????? to celebrate, commiserate???? OOOOOOO decisions, decisions
  15. ???????.You need your ears checking....can't you hear us from behind the pegs????.Could you not hear us on Sat on par with the saints fans??.It was a battle of the voices too. " we love you Oldham"......"ziga zaga...."......."Andy Ritchie's magic"...."stand up of you love Oldham..."...."Dave Penney's blue & white army..." If you fancy a sing song then I suggest you boost the numbers and get your backside in the RRE instead. Thought the roof was gonna lift when we scored - I certainly launched my nephew several feet in the air.
  16. yep I remember that shop too on chuch terrace near the war memorial - its now a cafe/coffee shop

Lego - had the worlds biggest box, outlasted any toys me and my sisters had - in fact was used by their kids too Broke buckaroo within a day - tut caused many minor injuries playing twister always got something arty like one of those foil scratch off art thingys or drawing stuff got rollar skates but never couls skate - you know the adjustable metal ones but could skate board Hey remember the arts an crafts shop on george st in Oldham at the back of oldham police station is now/back entrance to debs. in fact remember when it was at street period....
  18. Dear Father Christmas I have been a really good girl this year and I would like the following please: 1. A latics player who stays on the oppostions "d" a mops up any rebounds/corners when we are shooting. This may prevent us being ripped apart down the middle of the field when the opposition clears it and we are on our toes again defending 2. Players who like to tackle, especially in our midfield. A bone cruncher please 3. The ability not to have a total collapse of shape that leaves me biting my nails to bits within the last 10 mins of a game 4. more heat as I was chuffing cold yesterday. 5. Prozac to get better 6. Players to stop hoofing the ball, unless its way out of the ground Thats it, I am sure there will be many more requests Thank you.... t
  19. What concerns me more is "brain scan"......we know what the results will be on that one......lol and the colour of Blue, white n' tangerine too. Don't you dare scare us all like that again prozac. Seriously, get well soon big man, other comments are right - latics will always be there don't make yourself any worse as it is "only a game". Hopefully the lads will get a win for you. Take care and chill for God sake - although I would be mightly miffed if they told me to lay off the booze too...its the only thing that gets me through a 90min game these days especially after the last 10mins of Tuesdays game is anything to go by. Keep us posted T
  20. excellent prozac... Ever thought about a career in sports journlism? All the articles are balanced, reflective, supportive, honest and also includes future thoughts too... Keep it up... can't wait for the next installment.
  21. I remember a song but not all the words or how the rythm went... Mentioning "walking down sheepfoot lane......on a sat afternoon..." Sung in the 1980's Any ideas anyone???? It is now driving me nuts......aagghh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was it called something like "oh me lads.........end with "...(insert managers name....)...aces...!

    virus?

Dear Moderators. Just come back from honeymoney and myself and Tangerinedreams have been playing catch up on the forum and Tangerinedreams had a pop up alert/virus warning off one of the threads. We both have seperate laptops and I did not get it as I was in a different thread. Thought you should be aware. Thanks guys
  23. Tangerinedreams and I missed it too.......damn wedding/honeymoon in Jamica......lol....guess that makes a few of us who think we are bad omens...lol Well done the lads...keep it up...
  24. OMG!!!!..I have just come back off honeymoon to find out we have our first home win and you have passed your level 2 footy coaching....."congrats Wayne"....Ignore this BRF..what a wind up merchant!!....and I can't believe people who you have trusted with you mobile number have given it out and even your personal details to find you on FB too. Who ever you are you should be ashamed. You do the job for the love of the club and the kiddies, who adore you and your getting grief over it!!!!!!...bloomin eck...not only have some fans turned on the players but now are rounding on the mascot too. If you are being threatened on FB, get them blocked but get it reported too to Cookie as you have a family to consider. Hopefully we will see you Mrs Chaddy and the "owlets" on Sat night.
  25. I agree, but my young nephews were with me it was their second game and it scared one of them. That's when I got a wake up call as I was ranting with some fans when he came over tugging on my jeans asking why everyone was shouting and he didn't like being there anymore. It certainly woke me up fast and I realised others around were getting heated too It was then for the sake of the kids we left, just as a friend of mine witnessed what was going on as....... "I am a lady you know"....thought I was in trouble and with kids near me too. It could have got ugly...and certainly made me think about how I behave on the terraces, I want to defend my team..even from its own fans it now seems. My nephews are now undecided if they want to return to BP, its a shame as last home game, their first, they asked for Latics shirts for Xmas. I may have to move to another part of the ground in order for them to be persuaded to stay (they unfortunatly are Livepool fans - so I am trying to convert....) I will bribe them with chocolate and sweeties like a good aunty should....
