  1. We await and see (i hope he bloody well is now after all this hoopla )
  2. Thats fine, i dont really mind the decent united fans (especially the ones who go) i suppose that due to the nature of who you are, theres alot more clueless supporters out there who follow united, there the ones who piss me off. I should imagine that those fans that are cheering on the other team they must know some united fans in there or whatever, and its there way of giving some stick back!! and lets face it we dont get much to take the mick out of you with I suppose thats where some of my hatred comes from for united really, among other things (your constant success, b***ards ) !! As for the game saturday, well i cant say i watched the whole game and regardless of whether who should have had who sent off, i felt ronaldo could of conducted himself better, thought it was poor sportsmanship from him especially when he didnt shake murphy's hand after the challenge. Also he could have been done for dissent a couple of times over from what i saw on motd. Dont get me wrong the fulham players looked to be getting away with a couple of things but nothing to bad. As for Rooney, i dont believe any player will have got away with what he did, its all been highlighted more because he was sent off for it! we wouldnt be talking about it now if he'd have got a booking for it, which is exactly what it was, and it was his first yellow, there was no need imo to throw the ball as such. I suppose you could argue the ref got fed up with united players constantly in his face (ronaldo certainly looked it) and any chance of him not giving him the sending off wasn't likely. Like you say though the answer quite possibly lies somewhere in the middle as i dont like united and your a united season ticket holder!!! P.S. you dirty red!!!
  3. Lol i dont mind a bit of cynicalism when its needed, i just felt corps went too far, the man only asked for help. I suppose thats corps nature though, i think ive gotta agree with others when they believe he does it for kicks!
  4. What is there to need convicing of with dutch latic? the lad only asked where we like to drink as he is coming over, and corporal decided to question his nationality for no reason, he's not asked for any money or memorabilla to be sent over like the hoax poster we had a few weeks ago. Dont get me wrong if his ip didint check out, he started asking for stuff etc. then id get suspicious. I feel the reason why the majority questioned corporals uneeded question was purely because, if he is as genuine as most are given him the benefit of the doubt of (including me), it would be to show dutch latic we are not all as cynical as corporal, as we are mostly a friendly bunch of fans. Is it me or can anyone else see the irony of what corporal is doing? he criticises how we are falling behind as a club, and then a new fan introduces themselves and he acts in a manner were said fan would feel most unwelcome. I know his possible future financial contribution to the club would be relativley small, but imagine the number of other potential fans to cross corporals path!! I wonder, with every new fan he met, if he asked for proof of birth/nationality/whatever else?
  5. Jataal07, where do you live? im guessin not from oldham? this isnt a personal dig, as most oldham fans that i know hate united, as due to our proximity, our town is full of united fans (and city for that matter). My dad for example is constantly taking flak from workmates that support united, constantly smug about their results and taking the piss out of oldham when we lose or just because of were we are in the football league. He doesnt mind it though as thats part of being a football fan and he loves to give it back when they lose, its part an parcel of the banter. Same goes for my uncle who's a big red, he gives it, he takes it. There is other situations too where it occurs. Just because were not in the same league doesnt mean we cant share a rivalry, albeit a very one-sided one as i doubt most united fans bar the ones in oldham care too much about us. On top of all this i suppose you can add in the semi final defeats at the hands of united which still hurt, and also united for being united. Anyone see the game last saturday? disgraceful from the united players, behaviour wise. Ronaldo shouldnt have been on the pitch after that tackle when he jumped in on danny murphy, thats usually a red card but due to it being united it was never a sending off as the ref would be too scared of fergie after!! These are the reasons i can muster which i hope shed some light on it, maybe you also consider these possible reasons but dont consider them big enough as worthy to hate them, then fair play i suppose each to their own!! i just hope you might not understand a bit more why theres alot that dont particularly like united!!! rant over
  6. Heres one for you: Name four current premier league midfielders to have won the champions league twice???
  7. Why not?? every man and his dog seem to be doing so!!
  8. Ah okay, that is probably the best idea to get the game moved, i hope uefa dont make them play on that date and they pull their finger out, as their current stance seems to be "we'll do the best we can" which still leaves it open! With the guardian article, certainly reveals a little more to what happened that day, with myself not being old enough to remember it (i was 1) it sickening to think there was people dead while they were stood! madness that no one has ever been held accountable for it, it could at least provide some sort of justice for the lost loved ones and their families and also the survivors and their mental scars which they have had to bear along with the problems this has brought their own families.
  9. Anyone noticed that the scousers are trying to rearrange a possible clash of a 2nd leg champions league tie with the anniversary date of this? Im unsure whether they should, i think it would be good for them to play on this day, then again i was'nt invovled in the disaster so i could feel differently to the game being played that day. I just feel due to the emotional feeling swirling around that day it could spur the liverpool players on and also use the game as a tribute to those who died! what do others think? found this interesting article also: Guardian Article
  10. OMG!! big fat joe's blue white army!!! Play-off winners and then joe to lead us back to the premiership next season????? okay il go lie down (i reserve the right to claim i made this prediction first if it comes true ) Good appointment none the less and if we finish outside the playoffs, im sure performances will improve!!
  11. So long Sheridan!! will and always will be a legend for this club! God help the next fella like others have said, you'll need to be a miracle worker to win over some of this lot!
  12. Gotta agree with that post 100%, if budtz hadnt messed up for the first two it could have been a different game. However that doesnt excuse the shocking 2nd half performance. Im one of the biggest shez inners you could find, but i feel he did himself no favours today, not changing tatics/players when he should! im still undecided as to whether to get rid (they say im patient, cue abuse from numpties ) It was all the worse for me as i was sat in what you could consider the main stand, and had to endure ribbing from home fans (though i suppose im asking for it sat in there )
  13. We dont have a sound future? il admit ours doesnt seem to great at the moment, but once the recession recedes i hope the improvements to the ground begin, as im sure they will! on top of this, no future is certain anyway!
  14. Sure will!! lol i dont care, im not actually trying to teach them a lesson, just pointing out they have no history ;) in fact they shouldnt be in the league, though i suppose we better not start there as that argument has been done to death countless times Whats wrong with a bit of banter anyway? or are we not to sing?
  15. Im now going, along with my cousin and another, free box tickets i hope they allow colours to be worn, otherwise il be asking for a transfer round to the latics end of the ground! All together now: YOU'VE GOT NO HISTORY, YOU'VE GOT NO HISTORY!!!
  16. Excellent read that, knew they had difficulties just not how severe. Good to see the club finally finding a home, wouldnt mind attending my first game next time im in Dublin, latics shirt/scarf in tow
  17. Lets hope not, half the squad are killed off at the end of every season on that programme lol
  18. Fair enough i can see where your coming from, still dont agree that its sheridans ultimate responisbility, i just feel strongly that each individual is accountable for their actions regardless of IQ (there not exactly mentally disabled, though im sure it could be argued a few are ), like i say this is senior members of our squad, with someone like gregan himself, who im not too sure but doesnt he have manager aspirations himself? i would be a bit more dissapointed with sheridan if this was our younger members of our squad. From what ive heard (again not the truth) it sounds as if the rest of the squad behaved well, how do we know sheridan hadnt told these to behave well and they duly did.
  19. Were gonna have to agree to disagree then, although il admit he has some responsibility, at the end of the day these are fully grown adults and shouldnt need to be told when it would or wouldnt be a good time to drink. Considering its the senior members of the squad that appear in the thick of it, this makes it even worse for them. Thats my personal view anyway, i dont begrudge you yours. Any yes danoafc, like i say he does have some responsibility to keep the players in check, but i feel the players are ultimately responsible.
  20. Maybe the manager had faith in his squad not to go out and get pissed and behave like the role models they are expected to be? Cannot believe the manager is gettin the majority of stick for this!! seems people are using this to fuel their own desires of wishing to see him go!
