  1. At the age of just 23, that would be a shame. He obviously needs help and guidance to fulfil his potential.
  2. Firstly, that flat-capped tw8t shouldn't be anywhere near training, never mind sticking his oar in. That is Sheridan's job. Secondly, the comment regarding the atmosphere when said flat-capped tw8t is at the club just reinforces my belief that his return coincided with the drop in performances and ultimately, relegation, when there was a fighting [albeit slim] chance of avoiding it. He has played a huge part in destroying our club.
  3. Well that was shit result. Anyone above Barrow appear to be out of the mire but it is still possible to avoid the drop, with a fucking miracle** obviously. Injuries, suspensions, appalling penalties and some questionable decisions from referees and Sheridan have more or less sunk the ship. I don't get it, the sudden collapse. Is that imbecile rocking the boat again from within or is it down to a lack of talent and Sheridan unable to get any more out of them? Three more home games on the trot, the crowd is dwindling again and very tough run-in. If Sheridan is working for free, you wouldn't blame him for just walking away but I don't see that happening. **Stevenage docked points for sham Covid claims.
  4. For anyone looking to be positive about this game, don't go on Twatter unless you are prepared to throw yourself under a bus after reading the tweets from the trolls-of-doom! Oldham 1 - Exeter 0
  5. Amadi-Holloway sent off for Barrow. What are we hoping for here...a Stevenage win possibly?
  6. The drinking culture at the club in the Royle years is evident in the book, as well as the practical jokes etc. I remember taking my daughters to watch them train on Little Wembley, something we did now and again and my wife came along. Holden was smashing in goals for fun during the training match. After the session, my daughters approached their favourite players for autographs, meanwhile, Holden decided to chat up my wife. I told him "Fuck off! You're good but not that good!" He took it in good humour and signed a golf ball one of my daughters had found.
  7. Ex Manager. Just ordered the book... "This Is How It Feels: An English Football Miracle" This is my Oldham Athletic, not the pale imitation I see before me now. The Lemsagams can f**k right off!
  8. I wish I had put a bet on that but I suppose the only surety was Latics finishing in 17th - 19th again.
  9. That went well. Wouldn't surprise me to see them finish top.
  10. Of course. Hopefully a good game is on the cards.
  11. Another win and they have crept into the playoff zone today. Slowly, slowly as a certain person would say. I stand by my prediction but secretly hope I am wrong.
  12. I can see Bolton going up in auto and Bradford sneaking in the PO's.
  13. So are Bradford...but Doyle hasn't scored...yet.
  14. Have to say the "banging them in in training" means nothing, as we have seen and heard with previous Latics strikers. Not being detrimental to Rowe as I feel he is a loss to the team and wish him much success.
  15. Doyle gets one back on his old gaffer by scoring the first in Bolton's 2-0 win over Salford tonight. It was written in the stars.
  16. Apologies if this has been posted before, another interesting but highly frustrating read. Ex-Oldham Athletic winger hits out at treatment of players The winger being Filipe Morais.
  17. Irony? He will probably recruit Doyle on loan, who is failing miserably at Bolton, take Salford up while Swindon come back down.
  18. Sung to the tune of "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel!
  19. Hurts me to say this but something as drastic as Macc's demise might be the only way to get rid of the F**kwit who owns our club. I am only feeling an affinity for the Oldham Athletic name and badge [the real one] anything else is not "Oldham Athletic".
  20. I don't want my club...or any club, for that matter...to go bust and out of existence. I also appreciate the need to be interested and inquisitive about the way the club is run and structured, however, I just cannot muster up enough enthusiasm to allow it to distract me. Results on the field are paramount for me because good and winning results are the only way to get back up the leagues. I also realise that he way the club is run affects the ability to attract a good quality of player, something which I don't see happening with the club's current status. There seems to have been a substantial change in playing personnel and at present, we have no idea how this new team is going to perform. One thing I do know is the club is still attracting players and staff and you can only keep a bad reputation hidden for so long before it starts to precede you and no one will touch you with a barge pole...unless totally desperate or gullible, or both. Which camp, if any, do the new recruits fall into? Who knows? I wish them all the best of luck and a decent campaign.
  21. Pointon better be on there, otherwise I will have to change my avatar!
