  1. I can't believe he played one up front after all the spouting he has done re: formation and having avidly kept an eye on Reid. Nuttall is available for the next game and if he doesn't play Reid and Nuttall up front then he risks coming across as a pathological liar, therefore he should go immediately and let's get someone in who isn't schizophrenic.
  2. Don't know if this is old news, Wellens definitely gone back. M.E.N.
  3. Monty, the quote is... "He's already outstayed his welcome at Latics, if some opinions are heeded." Some opinions, not all. I thought his time was up but swayed the other way, given the movement in squad additions and the appearance of improvement at a playing level. I'm sure others feel the same.
  4. He's already outstayed his welcome at Latics, if some opinions are heeded. I am of the same mind that we won't see any loans from Everton...unless the Royle's have some influence.
  5. Still training with Latics and getting games, hopefully, with Radcliffe. It will probably roll-on month to month, I expect and the club can monitor his progress in training.
  6. Unsworth has to play them up front together, something which seems an alien concept to him, so far.
  7. Frank and the board may already be asking those questions of Unsworth, something which we will never be privy to. I thought Tollitt is our top scorer?
  8. It's his money but, do you think it's a case of too many players or not the right ones? I envisage quite a few leaving or out on loan [whoever will have them] and hopefully, Unsworth playing two up front because if he doesn't, then can he please leave immediately! Unfortunately, we will have to wait to see what Nuttall can do. Will that be the Gateshead game?
  9. That's a huge discrepancy between the two stats. I think I am inclined to believe Soccerbase over Wiki.
  10. Who fucking cares what a Blackpool supporter thinks? He scored 16 in 27 for them, which is a pretty good return in my opinion but obviously not your mate's opinion. One in three for Scunny, the important bit is that Unsworth uses him properly and not on his own up front with no service.
  11. I'm getting the feeling he's going to walk away.
  12. Lost 0-1 against a strong Barrow line-up, according tom Twatter. Threlkeld injured.
  13. We have to hope this is exactly the case, given how much the club appears to building this side of footballing matters. It will be interesting to see if any of BP's scouting leads to any gems being acquired possibly from lower down the pyramid.
  14. All I can say is, different team, different dynamics..who knows how these players will perform together under Unsworth? If they are better than what we already have or can compliment them to a greater degree, then we have to hope for the best.
  15. Funny how we appear to have an increasing number of other teams' fans coming on here. We could have done this plenty of times, with the ex-players who have moved to other clubs, telling them how crap they are or how they won't do a job..only to see them go from strength to strength with their new club. Here's hoping Unsworth's recruitment process pays dividends in the ultimate goal of keeping the Latics in this league.
  16. We're now going to have to do a 'MeetBP1960' session, so he can answer questions.
  17. Played correctly in an attacking line-up, probably.
  18. “He can play wide or inside, he’s got a great left foot..." From the fishul Dave spiel.
  19. I'm still annoyed and not in a good state of mind re: Unsworth but 'damned if you, damned if you don't' comes to mind with our mixed reactions. It's true, fans want something to improve and they want it now, so maybe he could be another piece in the 'quick-fix' jigsaw. I'm no different, btw. I really cannot see anything other than short-term loans until January and will be more than happy if this lad, a left-footer, comes in, provides some good crosses and one of the strikers gets on the end and puts the bloody ball in the net...please, FFS, put the ball in the net!!
  20. Great news for you, BP and a little kick in the teeth to your detractors. Good luck.
  21. I never want to see Porter play for Latics again, he's a crock. Bringing Smith in [he's not going to come, anyway] is not the answer.
  22. Similar to the team performance only minus the entertainment. The pandemic appears to have fucked up society's ability to deal with jangling and folding currency.
