  1. The formation. Granted, since Tonks came back we've adopted a sort of 442 but playing Simpson on the wing is never going to work, he is too prone to cut in and leave Lee doing all the work on the right side. Other than that, I think, honestly, that we could do a lot worse than play Bunn/Simpson up front with Tonks/Shefki on the bench.
  2. I hate the managerial merry go round. Clarke wont do anything at Wednesday that Megson couldnt. How can you go from winning the derby sunday to being sacked 3 days later?
  3. Dont understand this business with Lee at LB etc. He is a right back, lets play him there! And as for Parker at left back, not sure how Dickov can see he has defensive qualities when for the majority of the game he was itching to get up the pitch and leave M'voto to cover for him. Lets have it back to normal on Saturday please.
  4. Got to take the positives from tonights game into the 2nd leg... ...at least we scored 1 to keep us in the tie. In all seriousness, their keeper had a good game, the ref probably did us with their penalty with not giving a foul on Lee immediately beforehand, and the injury to Diamond cant have helped (Although Tarky had a good game.) I think we need a good result on saturday. Lets not forget the league, we could quite easily be sucked into another relegation battle.
  5. Do people think he's gone slightly off the boil recently? He's had a poor couple of games, and I'm not going to slate him, but I think he either needs a rest, or a strike partner up front (and I'm not sure Reid is an ideal partner to shefki) to relieve the pressure off him as he seems to be trying too hard and not pulling anything off. Thoughts?
  6. Kuqi has been poor the past 3 or 4 games, but, alas, with no-one else to shove upfront he is taking the pressure of seemingly being our only goalscorer. Didnt go to the game today, but I understand if Dickov sent us out for a draw-understandable. It's just a piss-take that we concede with 5 minutes to go. Roll on Tuesday.
  7. Great signing, this lad has the potential to be quality.
  8. I knew we'd get Carlisle, I just thought we'd be the away team! It is, on paper, a winnable game though, and at least we've avoided Burnley.
  9. IF, and this is a big if, that would be a quality signing!
  10. Im struggling to believe that we'd be able to a) attract Crofty back, b ) that Guidetti would want to come to us, and C) that we'd spend £100,000 on a player. I'll believe it when it happens.
  11. Someone needs to message that lad on Facebook and tell him to stop publically moaning about his employers...we have enough goalkeeping cover to get rid of him if he's not happy.
  12. It's about time Tounkara was dropped, he's played every game so far this season and for the past few games his touch has been heavy. Not so keen on Reid starting though, but we'll see. Come on Latics!
  13. Because to be honest, Boundary Park isnt fit for purpose anymore unfortunately. I do feel that there isnt a need to leave in such haste though!
  14. Ground sharing is the likeliest option. Alright boys, give us a clue as to where we'll be playing next season.
  15. Football would have no interest for me if Oldham were to cease to play in the town. Everyone kicked off when MK Dons moved from Wimbledon, and in reality that's what we'd be doing, albeit not on such a large distance scale. KTF
  16. I agree there are worse things, but, given his track record at both Leeds and Cardiff...would it really help us? This could just all be hypothetical if lazyboy is joking.
  17. From the Charlton Website blurb... "Fans can now watch almost 20 minutes of extended highlights from Charlton's 1-1 win against Oldham Athletic on Saturday on CAFC Player, including in-depth footage and live commentary on the incidents surrounding the dismissal of visiting defender Jason Jarrett." Funny, I thought they were lucky to get a draw if anything!
  18. Okay, but, as someone said earlier on, considering the large number of better and bigger clubs around us, we are a little fish in a large pond. In my opinion, we wouldnt be able to make any money to an extent to attract a worthwhile investor.
  19. I agree with this! Things have gone from bad to awful since we sacked Sheridan. Something hasnt been right at the club since. Who would want to invest in the state we're in?
  20. So lets say a drop of 500 from last year...considering the football on offer throughout last season that can be seen as a relative success, but realistically, 2000 season tickets and 1,000 other attendees a game isnt enough to steady the ship. I can empathise with Blitz and the other one thats left, but at the same time I feel as though the club is going down the toilet.
