it is a strange season. Even though we are not playing well at the moment I still feel we are much more competitive than under shez at the start of the season, which is why I think Wellens deserves some time.

What’s happened to the youth team? Not heard of any exciting prospects coming through for a while now? Anyone to keep an eye out for?

Having watched all the festive games on ifollow I think one of our main problems is fitness. I don’t think we are fit enough to play full tempo, in so many games close together. Shrewsbury didn’t look much better technically but were definitely fitter.

Despite the performance we've still had enough chances to get somehting from this. Some poor finishing today.

I watched on ifollow and Byrne was not the problem. Poor finishing and good Gillingham goalkeeping meant we scored zero. I don’t see the issue some people seem to have with Byrne, he’s been slightly greedy, angry, and trying to do a little too much since his first game. I think he’s been one of our most consistent players. On top of that you get his quality on the ball. He set up two or three good chances against Gillingham and if we’d scored everyone would be singing his praises.

Thought we just edged it and probably should have won. Excellent keeping and bad finishing from both teams in a scrappy game on a scrappy pitch. Gills could have easily stolen all 3 points at the end so glad we got the draw. I've seen us play much worse and win.

I'll be honest watching on iFollow I thought it was nailed on for Blackburn to nick it at the end. I thought we'd played well and were the only team trying to win, so we'd blow it in typical Latics fashion. Fantastic win and well deserved. Blackburn defended well but we kept at it all match. I'm surprised people on here don't like Fane. OK he can't pass a ball more than 5 yards, but he doesn't need to he breaks up the play and gives it to the more creative players. And he can still run around after 90 minutes. Looks a very good prospect to me.

What a game that was... really enjoyed it and a great win. Some fantastic play and dug in at the end.

DAZN stream all professional games out here in Japan live, that's across the top 3 divisions. Many non league games are also shown live. I don't think it has had any impact on attendances at all and I doubt it would back home either. I agree with what others say they should price it similar to a season ticket. I also think it's stupid that I can watch more oldham games on the otherside of the world than I could back home. Is DAZN available in the uk yet? It's an excellent sports streaming service based in the uk. They have lots of sports and all the top football divisions available for around £12 a month. If they got the TV rights for the premier league in the uk is hope it would be the end of the ripoff packages from sky and BT

where are you based smiler? I think the internet connection speed and quality has a big impact. I've had no problems at all bar the first game, but the internet is very good where i am.

Regardless of results I've really enjoyed watching Byrne play so far this season. Always looks to do something positive even if it doesn't always come off

I'm going to go against the grain with edmundson. He made two big errors yesterday I agree and got punished for one of them but he shows some potential. He tries to pass it out of defence too rather than Gerrard and Clarke's hoofs. It's my first time to see him play and I heard he was not physical enough but he looked to be bulking up to me. I remember thinking Tarkowski used to make too many mistakes to really make the grade and look where he is now. I'm not gonna claim he's destined for the same career just yet but think he deserves a chance and some patience to see how he develops.

After the first game my ifollow has been generally very good. Yesterday the only issue was the stream didn't come back on automatically for the second half so I had to refresh.

Typical oldham I suppose. Stupid pen to give away but Edmundson will learn from it so a good experience. Thought Sheridan should have used the other subs to freshen it up and waste some time. At least we've looked much more competitive over the last couple of games.

Gerrard concerns me too, I thought we looked much better against Blackpool once he came off.

I thought there was a lot of positives in terms of our attacking intent, and at 2-2 with 11 men were in with a chance of snatiching the win. The ref spoilt an otherwise good even game. We do need a more dominant keeper and possibly a faster center back though to shore things up in defence.

Now he's trying to even it up by booking as many charlton players as possible

Regardless of the result i think the ref needlessly spoilt a good game at 2 a piece with 11 vs 11.
