    It was bundled together with getting Redmond. I read £300k + Ricky for Redmond, not sure what the total value was but £650k sounds about right for the time.

    Where does George's fee rank in our list of fees received? Off the top of my head (say £500k as the threshold): Barrett to Villa, £1.7m Bernard to Aberdeen, £1m Gerrard to Everton, £1m Marshall to Ipswich, £750k Edmundson to Rangers, £675k (or so) Fleming to Norwich, £600k Trotman to Preston, £500k Serrant to Newcastle, £500k Henry to Sheffield United, £500k What about biggest fees paid? (same threshold) Olney from Villa, £700k Milligan from Everton, £600k Pointon from City, £600k McDonald from Everton, £500k McCarthy from Bradford, £500k Pedersen from Brann, £500k (I think?)

    Out of contract, in negotiations. (Also Benteke, Maouche - though we have an option in the latter case, but believed to have offered reduced terms.)

    Seems to have been well-regarded at Hamilton, chose to leave rather than released.

    I'd suggest "The Bomb" for his nickname, but I'm not even sure BP1960 would get a reference that old.

    Only if somebody wants to pay money for him. Nothing in his recent form suggested that was likely. So, we keep him and pay a (presumably) large wage, or agree a settlement to end the contract early. Not surprised.

    Edmundson (for now), Hamer, Iacovitti, Sefil, Stott and Swaby-Neavin. I'd guess only Hamer and Iacovitti would be first choice starters from that lot.

    Not sure it really says that: "So far three names of coaches from outside of the UK have been linked with the job" "no date has been set for when Oldham Athletic will announce their new head coach but [...] a decision sooner rather than later will be a benefit to the club" Looks like it's just restating the speculation to date.

    Ha! How many do I think will be regulars? Hamer, Iacovitti. Maybe Stott. Hunt unless he goes (I assume his wages are high enough there's no point keeping him and not playing him). Maouche, Missilou, Nepomuceno, maybe Branger. Possibly O'Grady. Has de la Paz done enough to be first choice? How many would I like to be regulars? Er, less than that list.

    15 professionals, plus 2 in discussion. (Or is it 14 plus 3? Can't remember if Maouche is under contract.) But yeah, some movement would be nice.

    Farnborough FC (was Farnborough Town), as it's where I grew up, mostly, and saw a good few games those years. Brescia, as I always liked Gheorghe Hagi when he was there. Dunfermline Athletic, as a girl I knew at university was a mad fan of them. St Albans City, as they're the closest side to me now.

    Evina is 27, Alessandra I think 30. Stead probably takes the average age up to about 40 though...

    Interesting. The official site player list has been updated. It's exactly what I was expecting after the retained list was published - except that Sefil isn't listed. Could it be that we've mutually agreed to terminate his contract or paid him off?

    Would assume the owner, perhaps after consultation with the then-manager. Kind of assumed it’s been that way for years.

    I agree wholeheartedly but suspect they're on prohibitively high wages.
