For the first time in years I barely followed todays game, I did hear we were 1 up after a few mins but then when I heard it was still 1-0 well into the second half I pretty much knew what the final score would be…and sure enough, logged on now to see the inevitable! This squad simply don’t give a shit about the club and have no desire or self determination to get fit and at a minimum out fight the opposition. Unsworth was obviously a disaster but, there is nothing to stop individual players showing some grit and dedication to their fecking profession! I am not going to waste any more of my money on this lot for a while.

Why are football clubs uniquely incapable of planning ahead for these fixtures and ensuring everyone who wants a ticket can get one? It’s staggering really, the ground won’t be anywhere near full and yet hundreds of Oldham fans will be denied entry or subject to police threats. Its not like lower league football doesn’t need the money, apart from anything else! Pathetic but standard these days sadly

This thread is a reminder, as if one was needed, of what a mess we are in despite all the promise of stability and steady progress. The squad is completely unbalanced and none of the key partnerships have been settled (ironically the only one for a long time was S&S which was clearly disastrous) I have honestly given up on this season as I think by the time a new manager has sorted out the mess and assembled a decent team and ethos the top few positions will have long gone (they probably have already) and we will at best have a shot at 6th or 7th…of course there is no reason why we couldn’t then somehow win the damn playoffs In the meantime I am going to hibernate for the winter and take a look at the table in early March

He is beyond useless, one of the weakest defenders I’ve ever seen. How the feck he is a professional footballer is beyond me, should be playing at NPL level at best

Sorting midfield out is obviously the priority but we have a bloated squad of mostly very average players even for this level so I think it will be next season before we can start to make progress. The irony is the club talked about a few seasons with stop the rot then stabilise then challenge as a rough three season target…..I think we got a bit carried away with some of the signings due the hype but in reality most of them have barely made an impression on professional football and we are still weak all over the pitch

Yes, I’m coming to the same conclusion, the squad is totally unbalanced and we can’t get a grip on matches. It is utterly dreadful to watch and equally pointless having a (supposedly) great attacking line up if you can’t give them the service. Norwood works hard but mostly in the wrong areas and his frustration is evident which probably doesn’t help anyone.

I’m done with watching us for a while, I’m wasting money I really don’t have and it’s damaging my mental health need to take a break from watching these useless so called professional footballers. Simply not worth it.

We have to face facts that this squad is probably not good enough to challenge this season…this is the easiest run of games and have made hard work of the last three matches. We’re literally hanging on at home to Maidenhead United, it’s shite

We’re winning but it’s still a bit of a slog and creating nothing this half. Amazing that a team still this bang average can be just outside the playoffs…this league is so poor! This game is not won yet though, losing our grip here

Not sure we’re getting the best out of Norwood yet, having to come deep and will get frustrated soon

Either way, I’d only give him the role until the end of the season….any half decent manager should be able to get this squad in and around the playoffs so he has the rest of the season to show he has something extra and earn another one, hopefully in League 2 or, if say, we lose in the playoffs, at least without DU wasting the first ten games of the next NL season

Not sure Willoughby did enough on Saturday to merit a start but it really would be nice if we could settle on our preferred starting strike partnership I hate the phrase but this is a must win game if ST wants the job
