What are a mess we’re in again, no idea of our best eleven and a complete lack of balance We really messed up in the summer and this season really could be another write off -

Remember when we all thought Aldershot were relegation certainties? Currently in the play offs and into the FA Cup 3rd round with a trip to West Brom! It really does show that putting a team together and creating a winning mentality is not just about budget at this level -

Absolute legend is Marc White! Him and Frank are two of the best stories in football. Looking forward to another trip to Dorking even though the away end is a bit shit! -

Mid table in Southern League Premier South….winnable
-
This squad is absolutely garbage, not necessarily in footballing ability but certainly in heart and desire which is what you really need at the lower levels to win promotion. MM knows this and his frustration is probably that he thought there might be a bit more in this squad to work with but we have seen over the last year or so that there is almost no evidence of a winning mentality in this group of half arsed players. This season is a write off again but with MM in charge I think we can have some hope that he will sort it out and next season we may be able to challenge That said, the FA Trophy is winnable (well, a Wembley day out which is what we really want)
-
Big game this, doesn’t feel like it but this is surely the competition we have the best (only?) realistic chance of genuine success. A trip to Wembley would be unbelievable and set us up for, hopefully, a promotion push next season. Most likely outcome then; Oldham B team gets turned over by high flying Mickleover

This is a bit painful, it has all the hallmarks of a very late postponement -
my optimism was limited to saying we would finish mid table without Norwood….given we finished mid table last season with a worse squad I’m not sure its really that “optimistic”

Games gone soft -
Nah, we have plenty of front players and if we creat chances we will score enough to win our fair share of matches…Norwood should be the difference between “normal” goals scored for a mid table squad and turn us into a play off possibility

I think that is what MM has been trying to do but last night he sounded like it was time for a different approach! I think we need an overhaul and that will take time, it’s really all down to last season and summer where we loaded the team with a bunch of skilful but evidently “soft” players whereas we need a bit of steel in the middle of the park especially This season will continue in this vein I suspect, no consistency and a mid table finish….next season I have faith in MM to make the necessary changes and we will be a different proposition -

I have genuine faith in MM and that he will get us into the playoffs…….but absolutely NOT this season! -

It really does need to sink in that we are what we are, a very average non league team with a squad to match, with the notable exception of Norwood who is clearly being overpaid by ££££ for this level and for this inept group of players. Unsworth and his mates should have left ten seconds after the final whistle last season and MM given the pre season and the apparently large budget to spend. Id love to ask him who in those circumstances he would have signed for this year out of this lot……I suspect his answer would be Norwood and maybe the young CB from Southend that we managed to pick up when they were going bust. Other than that I think he would think this bunch are exactly the opposite of the type of player he wants….they are weak minded, under performing young men who seem to be happy to coast along because they have “made it” and are so called professional footballers….they are exactly the opposite of “professional” and whilst I enjoyed the Woking and Barnet games it’s pretty clear they were an aberration MM has his work cut out to unravel the mess we are in and it will take a couple of seasons given the contracts in place -

Anyone talking about promotion with this squad is delusional This season is about MM figuring out who to keep for next season and who to get rid of (the majority hopefully) My focus for this season is the FA Trophy, our one genuine chance of success -

Mellon has talked about the need for consistency but sadly this squad are being shown up for what they are…not mentally strong enough Its amazing how they are unable to string together a run of good performances but I guess that’s why they are at the level they are at and haven’t really pushed on in their football careers -

The concern for me is we just don’t seem to manage any attempts on goal at home…only 2 off target shots in the first 30 mins is pretty worrying -

haha, I did, barely kept an eye on the Eastleigh game and only made a last minute decision to go to Woking. We were excellent Saturday so thought it was worth another long drive to Barnet and boy was it worth it! -

Absolutely fantastic performance by the team and manager tonight. Special mention to big Mike obviously plus Norwood…the pair of them will terrorise defenders in this league. Raglan and McGahey were superb and Kitch showed Freeman how to defend against width. The one downside was poor old Freeman at RB who looked absolutely lost and he and Green just couldn’t cope with Barnet width and movement (although Green worked his bollocks off so I was a bit unfair with my earlier comment when Barnet got the penalty) Melon showed he knows what he is doing by making perfect substitutions and shutting down the Barnet threat The Ref started well but the wheels came off after he decided to rewrite the rules and changed his mind about the (blatant) red card. And finally, a nice little cameo from Hope, he’s a great player to have in the squad. Excellent support all things considered and once again away to Barnet has been an absolute classic! The Hive will make a brilliant away day in the playoffs and the away end with 2000 would be rocking
