  1. NL tv completely fucked once again, what an absolute disgrace of a service it is
  2. I’ve been one of the DU out brigade since very, very early in his tenure but tbh I have no idea regarding his replacement…mainly because it is such a results based business and frankly, very few managers are successful at every club they manage so it will be about finding the right “fit” and you really don’t know until you try it. That said, a bit of experience wouldn’t go amiss….more nouse, less scouse
  3. Meanwhile, here on a sun drenched terrace it is all kicking off After the 2nd goal a small group started the inevitable “we want Unsworth out” and Frank (with us as usual) went absolutely ballistic and screamed “stop that right now…..you aren’t paying his wages….” He literally lost it!!! Really strange atmosphere now, loads of fans going up to him calmly here at half time but he can be under no illusion that DU is not wanted..when Bromley score their inevitable 3rd it is going to get very toxic He must be seriously questioning what he has done with his millions On the pitch it is the same as ever, 3-5-2 with Fondop causing his usual occasional problem but we are, as always, completely soft in midfield and at the back and we gifted them both goals. No doubt he’ll respond by bringing on Norwood who will probably get sent off when he gets frustrated with the lack of, well, everything! Another fun day out with DU and his barmy army
  4. I had to create an account via the link from the Oldham website…if you just went directly to the Bromley ticket site it only offered home general admission
  5. Weirdly, I’ve just realised we’ve only lost one of the last five
  6. Is it really too much to ask for both? We are the biggest club in the league, well run off the field, tremendous support and (surely?) one of the largest budgets in the league….not arrogance or entitlement, just the reality and we are clearly performing way below par
  7. Good post by BigDog and I’m looking forward to standing in the blinding sunshine again tomorrow and, I fear exactly one year on, listening to a bunch of teenagers from Bromley taking the piss out of us off the pitch while their well organised team takes the piss out of us on the pitch……please make me be wrong David!
  8. This is the kind of crazy talk that could seriously harm the brilliant long term strategic master plan that DU is implementing Last season we finished a magnificent 12th and David has steered us to within 3 points of that incredible achievement…yes folks, just 1 win separates us from 2 consecutive top half finishes It could come this weekend or it could come in April (at BP in front of 4k) but I truly believe David will deliver this miracle (although FR may have to back him with half a dozen new players, especially strikers)
  9. No chance we will get 70 points under Unsworth. The fact that he was talking last week about brining in more players shows to me that he simply has no idea what he is doing
  10. Nice theory but not sure the logic stacks up…..if we are within 5 points of the playoffs in mid December then that implies we have matched or bettered most teams results up to that point and they won’t fire him…..if, as feels more likely, we don’t then we will probably be much further adrift which will make it pretty hard for a new manager to come in and mount a serious play off challenge….he would almost certainly be talking about “having a full pre season” and challenging in 24/25!
  11. Listening to his post match interview, he is persisting with the idea that we are creating loads of chances each game and are somehow unlucky! In the games I’ve seen that simply isn’t true, most recently at Borehamwood we created almost nothing and it was utterly dire. He really doesn’t help himself and it’s pretty insulting to the fans that pay good money to then be told they had effectively watched a different game
  12. Absolutely brilliant listen that! Marc is a legend and one of the best things in football. I’m watching “Bunch of Amateurs” from the beginning and it’s extraordinary what they have achieved
  13. Well I must admit, I’ve been out all day and having just returned to see Unsworth telling Suzanna that he is looking to make some fairly big changes to the squad does make it slightly harder to stay zen! I had thought we were told we were doing our business early and hitting the ground running….it’s actually the opposite with no settled formation, no clear starting eleven and a bloated squad with several players out of favour and others who only seem to get game time in proportion to the fans social media “feedback” I honestly think the team is picked by outside influence, including ours, each week!
  14. I have said before that I simply don’t believe Unsworth has the ability or aptitude for this role, nothing personal or acrimonious about it but he is just not the right person. That said, I have decided to be Zen about it and given he is not going anywhere for the foreseeable future I have written this season off as I don’t believe we will challenge for promotion and possibly not even the playoffs, I will still go to all the Southern games (plenty of them in the NL!) and support the team on the pitch as I have through thick and mostly thin for the last 50 years! I sincerely hope DU proves me completely wrong
  15. We are just going around in ever decreasing circles Everyone, and I genuinely think it is everyone, can see that Unsworth is not cut out for the job. It is sad but it is self evident. He has to go. The only difference is some fans, and the Board it seems, want to feel better about the inevitable decision by giving him more time to “turn it around” He won’t and we all know it so it is just a question of how much of the season you leave for a qualified Manager to either steer us as way from a relegation scrap or make a late run for 7th place
  16. Oh well. Nothing is going to change so on we go to Gateshead. There will be a different starting eleven, different tactics and strange substitutions and we will (maybe) pick up a point Season is over (as long as we can stay out of the relegation fight)
  17. The thing is, Unsworth clearly doesn’t know his best starting eleven or his preferred formation…5 changes today and I bet no other team in the division did that…Fondop is an impact sub, nothing more so use him that way. Unsworth appears to be guessing every match and the chaos is reflected on the pitch
  18. That was another painful, turgid performance. I have pretty much written this season off after only 5 games because it is absolutely clear to me that Unsworth is categorically not capable of managing a professional football team. The first half was utterly appalling, we had 1 shot as far as I can remember and the body language and lack of energy from the players was utterly extraordinary. Kitching looked so miserable I thought he had just received some devastating news! Hogan and Raglan don’t seem to communicate and we could easily have conceded two or three. Norwood tried hard but he is living off scraps as we have almost no interest in getting forward as a team…only Green showed any attacking intent. After the break big Mike did his usual excellent off the bench contribution and we improved further when Gardener came on and showed those muppets Sheron and Shelton how a midfielder should play. However, we still failed to trouble their keeper much apart from a rasping Dickerson effort and the goal mouth scramble at the death. Overall, it was another desperately poor effort from a supposedly promotion challenging squad and one of, if not, the highest budgets in the league. Unsworth and Ebrell have had over 40 games in charge and I have seen nothing to suggest they have what it takes to get this squad firing on all cylinders…on the contrary I fear they are wasting a huge opportunity and actually making players worse. This league is bang average this season and there are very few grounds that we should see as having any kind of home advantage….consider today; the crowd was 1208 with 426 from Latics….so less than 800 home fans!!!! Rhino ball is awful to watch and it is not winning football.
  19. Still haven’t bought my ticket as I’m not completely over Southend…did say I would give this a miss…but, I’ll be there….there are worse things to be addicted to I suppose
  20. That’s pretty sound logic tbf I am on the Unsworth out side but you make a good point about the number of points at the midway point but I think it will take something like us being in or close to the relegation zone for the Board to act
  21. …caveat to my post; everyone is responsible for their own actions and some of our fans are utter cocks
  22. Just seen the goal and I have to say Norwood is massively out of order and partly responsible for the chaos there. He has 1400 Latics fans right in front of him but elects to run over to the Chesterfield fans and take the piss! If he had just run in to our end and celebrated with our fans it would (probably) have stayed there with only a few on the pitch around him Proper dickhead behaviour tbh
