Finished 2-0. Defending looked far from convincing - Ashton hit the crossbar twice and the post once - but all in all a decent performance. Josh Parker looked quick and lively and scored two cracking goals; for his first he broke free out wide and curled the ball into the top-far corner with the outside of his boot, and for his second he span their 6ft+ centre half on the edge of the area and lobbed the keeper with ease. Mellor looked strong and creative and made a couple of surging runs from the middle of the park. Other two trialists (black left back and European-looking left mid) looked far from convincing. Morais played the full 90 but clearly wasn't trying his hardest.

Notts County 'A decision has been made on the club's new logo, following detailed feedback from supporters and several design stages. Eight crests were shown to fans in issue 22 of The Mag and on the club's Official Website. This led to hundreds of forms being returned with comments on how they felt the badge should look.' 'The final design is intended to incorporate Notts County's history, as well as present a modern feel that can represent the club into the future. On confirming the new design, Notts County chairman Ray Trew said: "After consultation with the fans and having contemplated numerous submissions, it was decided that this design represented a good blend of elements from previous badges to symbolise the club's illustrious past, whilst also signifying a more contemporary style.'

Give me a week and I'll come up with alternatives - not that anyone 'up there' will bat an eyelid. I came up with quite a few kit designs a few weeks ago that generally received positive reactions. I haven't really posted since but this has made my blood boil. Old men with old views of the modern world was never going to produce anything pretty.

Sorry if it's been asked before but I can't be bothered filtering through 23 pages of opinion - why wasn't there some kind of vote? We've had votes for kits in the past which, in my opinion, are far less significant. Genuinely upset with the powers that be. I'da created 10-15 samples on photoshop FOR FREE. Each one would've been far better than this lazy, tacky effort. 'Oh, but the two, yes two shades of blue on the crest represent the hills of Oldham!' - give me a break.

Horrible horrible font, horrible logo, horrible chavy kit manufacturer, horrible away kit. So much for evolving.

Right, finally nailed that royal blue on the head so last three for a while. I think these are my nicest designs yet. 1) Royal blue home shirt with tangerine pinstripes, white trimmings and collar. 2) Tangerine away shirt with white pinstripes, white trimmings and collar. 3) Red and white retro-inspired third jersey, white trimmings and collar. All three created with current Nike templates. JD Sports main sponsor, Carbrini side sponsor (effectively the same company). Criticism welcome.
