  1. Think they move to their new ground at the start of next season, no?
  2. I'm happy. Midfield is where we've been weakest all season, and the two lads brought in should go a long way to addressing that. Having Livermore also means we can play Taylor on the right, and move Allott infield, where he's looked much more effective. I'm not too bothered about not getting a striker in, as I think young Lewis, Dean, and Davies have enough about them to score bucket loads, and if Hughes can get fit, then we'll have good competition for places. Sorting the midfield out should give us enough to supply the forward lads, even without spending silly money or taking a gamble on a journeyman.
  3. Spot on Ackey - I was going to post something like that last night, but was too knackered. It worries me a little, as it's something that you'd expect the coaching staff to have well in hand. Maybe we're not as thorough when it comes to planning SP out as other teams? In this league every little helps, and those few goals that could result (both scored and saved) could be vital in the final standings.
  4. That'd explain the caravan on clayton playing fields tonight...!
  5. Personally I think selling Trotman now is probably a wise move. How many times over the past few years have we had players come into the team for a season or so, be raved about being the next big thing, and linked with moves away for big money, only for them to lose form and interest die down? I'm thinking about the rumours around Eardley, Taylor - even Andy Holt I seem to recall! At this moment in time, we're (mostly) a selling club, and need regular investment to keep going - getting money in on transfer fees makes us much more secure long term.
  6. I sit in the Chaddy, over on the main stand side, and I don't really mind the drum that much - on the whole probably gets more songs going, even if it is the same ones on repeat. What I can't stand however is when there's a lull in the singing, and the guy with the drum is just pratting about with it - giving it the odd bang, or tapping his sticks against it. Even just doing a slow beat. It's driving the people around me mad, and on more than one occasion against Donny someone threatened to shove the sticks up his aris.
  7. I'd say you have little to no idea how it works. At the moment there is actually space for a number of directors to come on board. As such (assuming we don't get a large number of candidates standing!) anyone who stands is likely to get on board. The struggle has always been getting people to come forward, rather than finding space for those who do. PM me if you want more info.
  8. If you don't like the way the Trust is run oafc0000, why not stand for election and help make changes?
  9. What news. Hopefully TTA will stick around and appeal, but I guess we'll have to see. May I take this opportunity to remind you all that if they do bugger off, then the Trust could again come to the forefront, and indeed play a crucial role in the future of OAFC. If you're not already a member, you can join at http://www.keep-the-faith.co.uk - £5/year. It's our AGM soon too, so if you want to get further involved, now's a great time. We're always looking for enthusiastic, motivated directors - even if you feel you don't have anything to offer - you're probably wrong!
  10. Everyone else can wear whatever they like, but you have to dress up maddog!
