  1. When Ronnie Moore was here we finished 10th, and we’re in the bottom half for a good while. We’re currently 16th. If you play boring football then there has to be success at the end of it. Although 10th was a big improvement on the previous season when we stayed up on the last day, it was basically only a mid table finish which didn’t appease anybody. if Unsworth has us in the top two or three next season playing like this he might win people over, but if not he’s no chance.
  2. The point is really, can we win, or seriously challenge for promotion playing like this, and if so, will the fans put up with it? We’re all desperate for success so I’m guessing the answer would be yes. Skip forward a year and we’re top or near the top (hard to imagine I know) and I think the atmosphere would be different. The question is, is that possible playing so negatively, and can Unsworth deliver it if it is? Many believe the answer to be ‘no’ to both. We’ll find out though I’m sure, as I don’t think he’s going anywhere anytime soon.
  3. I was happy enough with the result yesterday, but I don’t think I’ve ever felt so underwhelmed after a win. Maidstone we’re awful, haven’t won in ages and a rightfully bottom of this shite league, yet we laboured to an unconvincing win, only sealed in the 93rd minute. Their side looked like they’d been cobbled together in a car park on a Sunday morning. Some of them looked so out of condition I’d back myself against them in a fitness test and I’m 63 years old and last saw the inside of a gym when I did PE at school.
  4. Whether we end up in the National League North or not, I don’t think Maidstone will
  5. People always look on games in hand as a positive, but if we lose our game in hand over Gateshead on Tuesday, they’ll actually go above us and we’ll be back in the bottom four. in our case games in hand could turn out to be a bad thing.
  6. It looks plain to see that Unsworth’s going nowhere. Before yesterday I thought very slowly improving, and that this would continue for the rest of the season, and although it wouldn’t be pretty we would finish mid table, well away from danger. The crunch would come in pre season, where we had a Ronnie Moore situation with season ticket sales well down as no one could stand the manager. After that yesterday I’ve lost hope of mid table mediocrity and I’m dreading next season already.
  7. That was for a different manager and he soon fucked him off
  8. Maybe Mo was right and clubs are queuing up for him. Who wouldn’t want him?
  9. To be honest, after listening to Ebbrell’s interviews, my advice to Unsworth next time he pre-plans not to do one would be ‘send Jeffers instead.’
  10. Even if he doesn’t want it and he’s not even our player?
  11. So you’ll ‘come back’ if we sack Unsworth. What happens if the next manager is just as bad or not much better? When does ‘Boycott 3’ start?
  12. You’d think he’d know all about that as soon as we expressed an interest. Everybody else did.
  13. Etherington was in charge for just three games apparently, and he won one of those!
  14. He’s shown no inclination of wanting to get involved in coaching or managing, here or anywhere else. He turned down a new contract at Tranmere in the summer because it was a player coach role. You can’t just give him the manager’s job if he doesn’t want it
  15. Reading that it doesn’t sound as if he’s going anywhere. A lot of what he says is true, total rebuild, all stick together etc. The trouble is, if the person in charge of the rebuild is shit at his job, it’ll never get of the ground
  16. Does every other club sign (or try to) as many former players as us? Connor Brown and Matt Smith have been mentioned to go with the three already here, and it's like this all the time. We even re-sign players who were shit the first time round.
  17. Unsworth said after signing Rooney that he wanted to come here, and he only wanted players who desired to be here. I know that's typical manager speak, but If Nuttall's been stalling for a better deal (either here or elsewhere) maybe Unsworth's binned him off.
  18. Oh definitely, The state of the club from when he took over to where it is now is down to him, but the reason why I see it being so hard to sell is down to the lot of them.
  19. An interesting listen, particularly to hear another 'take' on the whole mess. What I took from it was that although Abdallah's made a right balls up of it, we were well and truly fucked anyway before he came in. I thought Andy's line of questioning was very good, but the other guy seemed determined to blame Abdallah for everything and less open to look at the fact that the club was a basket case anyway. I'm not sticking up for Abdallah in any way, and the day he leaves can't come soon enough, but I can't see anyone buying it in it's current state, and the current and previous owners are all equally culpable as to where we are now in my view.
  20. If sufficient funds are raised to purchase the ground or form a consortium to do so, but Abdallah remains in situ as owner of the club, what then?
  21. If the original aim is to force Abdallah to sell up and leave, how will OASF owning/part owning the ground achieve this?
  22. Danny Whittaker is manager at Macc, for today anyway.
  23. Danny Whittaker is manager at Macc, for today anyway.
  24. Dont do twitter and cant find the email address, so tw questions I have are:

Do they have any intention of taking control of the club, or are they only concerned with the ground?

What are the chances of Latics playing home games away from Boundary Park if the ground issue between Blitz and Lemsegan isn't resolved soon?
