  1. Whilst I'd have much preferred a Saturday afternoon 3pm kick off, with the prospect of making a day of it and feeling involved in the general buzz of the 3rd Round, I think most will simply accept it for what it is and look forward to a cracking night. I've booked a half day holiday and I'm sure many others will be looking to call in favours for this one to make sure that they can say, "I was there"
  2. Me and Finn will be going. Will be able to get into shop /pick up on Boxing Day.
  3. I may be a lone voice here but I've plumped for the black kit. I think it's the smartest of all of our kits; I'll always linked an all black kit to scarily good teams on computer footy games on my ZX Spectrum; it's the one that my son prefers to wear (and he likes to look like the players) and the owl. Never underestimate the owl. Sure, Suarez has played at a World Cup and many within the Liverpool squad have played top level European football but OUR OWL HAS ORANGE EYES. ORANGE! Imagine being clattered in a midfield challenge, looking up from the floor and in amongst the glare of the floodlights you see Wesolowski wearing a badge with an owl with ORANGE EYES on it. Worth a goal start IMO.
  4. A very good point in circumstances that would, previously, have seen us buckle. As the OP says, that we got something out of a game against the runaway leaders, with our defence ripped apart by injuries ( I also believe Clarke needed stitches during the match ) and going a goal down. It says everything about the team spirit that Dickov has fostered and the players themselves that they kept going. Wins against Hartlepool and Notts County could leave things looking good going into 2012. Whisper it, but the positive vibes of recent weeks don't show any signs of letting up.
  5. This. When a good chunk of fans in the RRE were joining in, it looked a good giggle. Nothing wrong with some silliness to keep things going.
  6. One of the nice thing about Dickov's reign is that you can see how he wants his team to play and, for the most part, the players seem to understand that. It's noticeable that we've improved this season now that's he's had chance to get more of the players that he likes the look of into the squad. Injuries, suspensions, lack of form and finances can always scupper that. More than that though, his enthusiasm and passion is infectious. He's surely destined for good things and I'm delighted that he's serving his apprenticeship with us.
  7. They achieved their target by getting to the third round. An unusually young set of lads I believe, some of whom will be the better for the experience.
  8. What a prick! If he had stayed on the pitch, it may have been different. They should leave him to make his own way home.
  9. That IS good news as, at the very least, he comes across as a popular bloke to have around the place and it shows that despite his form and assists count, Huddersfield still don't feel the need to look at him.
  10. According to Matt Cambers on Twitter, he's moving well and has a chance for tomorrow night. Whether he'd be risked or not is a different matter. On a related subject, the impressive Semodo chant from the Wednesday fans should be stolen and repurposed for M'Voto as I've very cleverly worked out that they're both feted for their defensive abilities and both names end on 'o'. That kind of insight, my friends, is what a Polytechnic education gives you.
  11. I don't think a straight poll is going to help here. Probably best if everyone qualifies their answers with their current marital status and the total number of trips made to Relate.
  12. At the very least I hope he leaves us with something to remember on Saturday. Hopefully another hat-trick followed by a glorious professional foul.
  13. To be honest your goose is pretty much cooked. She won't be quick to forgive and her mother will slowly crucify you for the rest of your life. Your only hope is that she writes off your car or something so you have something to 'haggle' over.
  14. Great to have a squad but Wes will be a big miss if not for the team, for me. I just love his cheeky face when he's celebrating a goal. I'd imagine he gives a cuddle like a cheeky, cuddly ewok.
  15. She doesn't understand you. Having said that wtf are you doing booking a wedding in March?!!
  16. A fine player who should be showing his talent at a higher level. I genuinely think he'd want to return but, I guess, it will come down to how stubborn Huddersfield want to be and, if they receive ay offers for him, there's not a lot we could do. If there aren't any cash offers and if we get past Southend, hopefully we'd be able to stump up his wages for the rest of the season.
  17. He was definitely retching but that should be the minimum requirement from any central midfielder in my opinion.
  18. If we're talking performances, can I also throw Morais in there. For a non-playing sub he put in a decent shift in the second half, warming up in just shirt sleeves. Couldn't help but think he was trying to senda message out.
  19. Very impressive analysis that but also very interesting in the rest of the thread that there are companies who act as 3rd parties to provide scouting reports. I didn't know this. They must surely only ever act as back up to those sent by the clubs. I must get a piece of the action and set myself up as one of these, not that I'll be faffing around travelling to games. I'll be basing all my reports on comments in fan's forums and levels of Twitter abuse.
  20. True that. In recent games he has rarely wasted a ball, keeping posession with ease and making the right pass. Even before today, his confidence seems to be through the roof and I'm sure he'd admit that his time at Latics has been as much to his benefit as ours.
  21. Thing is, even his goals aside, I never tire of watching him and the work that he puts in. He obviously closes down the opposition more than any other player and yet does it without being the proverbial headless chicken. Probably not his best game today but he was still relentless and, I've said it before, a superb example to any young player puporting to call themselves a professional. "What would Shefki do?" is usually a good question that a professional should be asking themselves. Not me though. I'm an IT Manager and asked my self that this week, right before staring down my boss in a meeting, arm wrestling clients and eating large sections of the internet.
  22. Don't expect Shefki to exhibit 'normal' human emotions. He's a machine built from East European war equipment and programmed to score goals. We'd scored four and he hadn't got any of them - of course he's going to short circuit.
  23. We most definitely should get one if allowed. Of course the initial outlay may sting but the additional revenue from hiring it out, the reduction in postponements and maintenance would be hugely beneficial to clubs such as ours. In fact, we should make sure we're at the front of the queue to get one in.
  24. He's clearly the type that needs a good run in a team to get in the swing but, at the moment, he looks a fine player. Nothings been announced as far as I know but we absolutely should be signing or extending his loan.
