i see him being very similar to dowie, playing with what attibutes he has and making them work for him. He played at the top level in this country, and was an international. The only difference is dowie has management experience, in which his record is bloody awful.

yes i agfree with this, for me Tom adeyemi seemed to be shoe horned into our stating line up last season, making over 40 appearances and in my opinion, come the end of the season left here a better player ( i admit he hasnt gone on to bigger anbd better things though!) had we shoe horned winchester or mellor in there game after game we would not be looking at our bench and saying we are down to the bare bones when looking at them to come on, as they would have progressed the same.

As pointed out in the opening post though talbot, moore and penny, SC apppointments had a good track records, more or less everyone wanted sherdian to be given a chance and dickov was a punt. Maybe for one reason or another they didnt work out but you cant blame the chairman for that, can you?

He needs an older head with him someone like a Peter Reid or Brian Horton (not saying it should be 1 of those 2 but I wouldn't object to either) The current set up is too negative and (1) the blinkers are on with the professional staff and (2) the unexperienced and unquallified one is not upto the job i agree with everything till this point im sorry but on the other tougchline was dean saunders with less league experience than dickov and he did fine and last week was di canio, same applied the experience thing dosent wash with me any more

I didnt matter what what happened today 8 of our players were guaranteed not to be subbed. the only ones who could be were wes smith or changy. Everyone else is secure in their shirt for 90 minutes. smith couldn't be replaced because dickov wouldn't trust dan taylor to lead the line wes was having a good game, and changy was subbed when he ran out of steam. The subs from that point were wasting their time warming up.

I thought they were excellent today both of them constantly talking and giving an air on confidence from from the bench which must help the team. Furman was annoyed about the marking at corners but the bench sorted as soon as he told them.

I liked him when he broke into the squad at 17 and thought we had a good player on our hands. But i think he epitomises how scary this season is going to be. In the last two seasons when for long periods of time we have struggled to create chances he only made the squad when we a desperate with injuries. At any other side in our league he would have been released on that basis, and yet we have given him a 1 year deal. Cheap, probably. Good enough to be a squad to survive, im not sure.
