grahamb replied to Diego_Sideburns's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
sorry diego , you are usually one of the best contributors on here but where are you going with this ? we have known about locky for months , kasunga will be back missing only one league game . elokobi will be back in 3 weeks joe mills had a virus at weekend , may play tomorrow . do hope we sign a world class forward . -
Latics 3-2 Scunthorpe

dom poleon s strength is his speed . he wants the ball in front of him . he had his back to goal for most of the first half and he was not strong enough. that doesn't mean he is a bad player , he is still learning the number 9 role . also as a team we sometimes take too long to get the cross in or to put the ball behind defenders , that cuts down his chances .. one idea is this , when we are chasing a game put him on right wing .( nothing major against winny , but he comes inside too often ) poleon on right forte on left Wilkinson and philly in the middle . -
Elokobi injury - replacement?
grahamb replied to Diego_Sideburns's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
Dieng played against Huddersfield pre season and looked calm and cultured throughout .also played in a back three v boro in the cup but the plan had to change after we went two down . he also thinks that's his best position but the coaches feel he is good enough for midfield . I understand most people have not seen much of him but I believe we have a real talent there . no need for loan player . -
Mellor out on a months loan to Alfreton

scored today I think -
the manager is trying to bring in a striker , we put in a bid which was accepted, the man gets an injury , other clubs now in for him . some people on here seem to think the manager is not aware we could do with a goal scorer . he knows ! someone else wants to know what tommy wright is doing . working hard I would suggest . we are in a good place as a club with the right management team , lets be grateful and back them .

Swindon Town 2-2 Oldham Athletic
grahamb replied to oafc1955's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
think that's 2 defeats in 17 league games . I know full well that the 10 games end of last season have gone but it shows the manager is getting his message thro to the players . if we carry on like this we might start to dream of better times. I love it . come on my blues . -
don't forget we have young Timothee as well . I rate LJ highly for his ability to spot a player and getting them to sign for us . then coaching them to produce the best that they can be before we inevitably get an offer for them . its a godsend for our club having LJ . and on match day he is no mug either . 2 defeats in our last 16 league games . fact

I started this thread to try to stimulate some ideas and opinions about attendencies and I think a few good points and ideas have been thrown up. as far as wigan crowd numbers there is an easy lesson here , if you can find a multi millionaire owner to build a new ground with all the commercial facilities it feeds the on field team , bringing in better players and so on . its been proved by the partial success of wigan, Bolton , stoke ,Cardiff , Swansea etc . also better facilities for the fans match day experience . we seem to be a down hearted crowd too often .we do have two stands which are around 25 years old but have decent toilets , catering and now we can get a beer in both . a new stand which when complete will give us good income streams and revenue and a just about everything we could ask for on match days as fans. I know simon corney would love to replace the main stand as well and although that is ambitious I really believe he will try . we have the young guy , is it taylor ? , back on the board and with his expertise in finance it may happen one day . best of all we have a really good young manager on a long contract . this guy is the real deal . he has brought in young players like korey smith and jch , developed them and then replaced them . to be honest that is exactly the type of manager and coaching we need at this club . none of us like to see our favourite player leave but to be realistic if we don't sell we fold . I hope everyone sees the start of better times NOW GET BEHIND YOUR CLUB .

good to see a small but very welcome increase in attendance today. hope some of the new fans today don't desert us if things take a dip and it keeps on increasing . it must lift the players , the manager and the board . next target 5,000 ( home fans )

heard he had a woman down south which was his reason for coming to England and the reason he wants to stay down south . remember he does not drive .

thank god for the win just to shut up some of the moany , whingy , whinney moan moan moaners on here. we have lost by one goal at PNE . we got well beat by bookies favourites Orient ( see all of their results this season ) we have drawn a few and now thrashed Donkey . that will probably be our season , draw some , lose some and win some . nobody likes to lose but some so called supporters need to man up and be realistic .we are not world beaters yet but give us chance NOW COME ON MY MIGHTY BLUES -
Needed For Success
grahamb replied to Postman Matt's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
we have David Noble on trial although he is still injured . according to LJ he is the genius type we may need . he rates Noble as one of the best he ever played with and should have been a premier player . seems to have had one or two issues in the past but if he gets fit and shows the right attitude he could be the one -
two Spanish clubs announced their new kits this week. CD Lugo has a shirt like a pint of beer with the head on the shoulders . Culteral Leonesa has one like a tuxedo complete with a bow tie I kid you not . look it up for yourselves then tell me any blue shirt for latics is bad

Friendly vs Newcastle
grahamb replied to JoeLatics's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
for me jones showed glimpses, Kelly disappointed , Dayton flashes , defence pretty good . their goal was a peach of a shot after ball had come back off the wall . but apart from that they hadn't ripped us apart . we seemed to be 4-1-4-1 second half after the mass substitutions Winchester ,mellor and brown brought energy . timothee was neat and scored good header. gros did little until he scored, I don't rate him. I want to find someone better . I thought mo sherrif was lively and is a better player than patressco was . want another look at him . I think forte might be worth a contract . he showed exactly what we want to see someone who beats a player and puts a cross in , no messing .sign him .also he is a team player . that's my opinions . other people have theirs . -
I think one of the benefits of having a younger manager like LJ is that he is open to new techniques and coaching styles . he has already had the balls to admit his 1st season mistakes and learn from them . in his recent interview on player he talks about a local hotel providing accomodation for the players after lunch so that they can have a rest then do another coaching session later .

Anyone know what this is about?
grahamb replied to RoytonLatics's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
I think it was referring to the progress that athletic made from being a new baby club to punching above its weight . to think latics lost out to everton as league champions by a point a few years later . I think the 1st world war was started as dastardly plot to stop us dominating world football . the Kaiser was a Rochdale fan ! -

Ron was a scout and coach for junior / youth players . he was around when my lad was playing with keiron lee and micah Richards . ( my lad turned his back on the professional game to preserve his amateur status ) ( the young fool) lol . but most of all Ron was a really decent bloke . happy retirement and good health Ron .

our club needs the new stand to be a commercial success ,we need people in there buying beer , pies , coffee , hot dogs .placing bets , watching big screens .our team and manager need fans making noise .(anyone who thinks it does not affect results is being stubborn , it has affected the last 5 results) I have seen some great days from the chaddy but its nonsense to cling on to the past . lets not hold our club back lets move on . chaddy for away fans.
