  1. Merry Christmas from Brisbane Peace and love to all I was going to extend this to Man Yoo and Collingwood supporters... Ah what the hell Merry Christmas to everyone whoever they support. May whatever God you have go with you all A special message to those Tasmanians reading this. Be kind, buy your siblings two hats. This is not a time for fighting!
  2. Hey, Hey, steady on mate; keep your jacket on...
  3. With the exception of Sheffield United, who, based on current inflation rates, will pay £60 wherever they sit/stand
  4. Win both our games in hand and we are 16 points off top. With everyone in the top 6 currently beating each other and both Wolves and Orient stuttering a little, it wont be long before we are 4 points off the top! Half full!
  5. Absolutely they are! Whilst the Lions won 3 flags in four years 2001,2 and 3 (finishing losing finalists in 2004, Geelong won 3 in 5 2007, 2009 and 2011, losing to Hawthorn in 2008. Their cycle is currently on the downward trend with so many established players either being delisted or traded at the end of 2013; however, they are not yet done! Write off the Cats at your peril! In the early part of the 2000's, it was the Lions and Port Adelaide who dominated (Port beat the Lions in 2004). Of late, it has been Geelong, the Sydney Swans and Hawthorn. West Coast have been there or there abouts and St Kilda had a good go in 2009/2010, although they seriously punched above their weight. In modern day football, clubs usually have a four year window in which they are able to launch a serious tilt at the flag. (their recruits mature and the team clicks). The exception has been the Swans where they have been consistently consistent for the last 6 or 7 years. The extended salary cap has helped their recruiting (still have no frikken idea how they got Lance Franklyn), but even without it, their recruitment and retention policy is second to none. The Lions are going to surprise a few this year. GO LIONS
  6. Its because it was all on one line, without even drawing breath....having lived that for the last 15 years, I am surprised I didn't notice it! As Pete says,
  7. Good picks in the draft for the Lions: James Aish, Lewis Taylor and Tom Cutler are all guns already
  8. They are :censored:. Just that we were :censored:tier! I am considering a sick day tomorrow. I cant stand :censored:ing gloaters. Especially Aussie ones! Still, I will stick with my 3-1
  9. Outstanding Pick! :imnotworthy: There is no denying it. Its official! The actual attendance is probably watching the Wolves highlights
  10. He was. There was a big spread on him and the Sheik having a war of words. He did come out with a classic when asked about stats of the gate his horse was drawn in..."I dont care about statistics. The reason no horse has won from gate 18 is that they were all :censored:". Cracked me up!
  11. The beauty of this thread is that whilst so many memories were shared, every one of them is so personal.
  12. Now that the bitter boardroom brawl is finally over at the Lions and Lethal is finally where he belongs, I would be interested to know who supports who within the seemingly increasing number of Latics fans that have ventured to the Southern Hemisphere. With the Lions already written off as spooners for 2014, (I have a sneaking suspicion that the media have it all wrong) how do you think your team will fare in 2014? Who do you want in the draft, who will you get in the draft and are Collingwood fans capable of breaking into a collective double figure IQ? Its only a month since season 2013 ended and its only 5 months to 2014. Plenty of time to get some rivalry going and plenty of time for the Lions to prepare for the expected round 1 defeat Vs the reigning Premiers. Say goodbye to the Paddle Pop Lion!
  13. SBW is God over here Prozac, despite being from across the ditch. His second half performance for the Roosters in the GF was absolutely incredible. Good to see that he really is a mere mortal! With The Kangaroos largely made up of a who's who of the mighty Maroons, (love watching GI play), its hard to see past them; although it will be interesting to see another QLD hero in Petero Civoniceva line up against them for Fiji. Having said that, it takes a hard man to knock out Thaiday and Burgess will be fired up again for the inevitable rematch. Go England!
  14. I had heard about the digital pass some 18 months ago, so they dont appear to be in any real hurry. The quality of player, LOW MED or HIGH is average at best. But I will take average until something better comes along. Can you write to Dinamo Bucharesti?
