  1. I will be based in Birmingham on a 9-12 month contract which means that I will be up at BP (it will always be BP) as much as I can for our promotion year. I think the project kicks off in September. If anyone is happy to meet up and put some faces to the traces, let me know.
  2. Now that the Scholes and Micah sagas are drawing to a welcome close and are safely being locked in a crate in a giant Washington Warehouse along with countless other similar crates, I thought we may nee another one... http://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/news/article/quitting-not-an-option-1780473.aspx I love a good saga just as much as the next man!
  3. All in the first half IIRC. Shaw was pure class. We had some damn good strikers around that era....Shaw, Halom, Young, Taylor and Stan. I reckon Taylor was just as quick as Shaw.
  4. Dont mind me, its late, I have had 6 Tooheys and 4 JD's and I am using the word :censored: like a comma
  5. What impressed me was Gross in the way he got back up, sheilded the ball and fizzed it against the post
  6. Or maybe its the area of Salford used by female cyclists
  7. Montage hey? Isn't that one more than two? Found this: JHC's is a screamer... Eric V Ernie
  8. Well, its not quite a mop, and its not quite a pet, but maaan!
  9. Hopes: Champions with JCH and Turner bagging 58 between them. Fears: Champions losing 8 of our promotion winning team before the championship season kicks off for undisclosed fees to Newcastle. (with the exception of Chubs, Brown and son of Daenerys Targaryen). Expectations: All of the above.
  10. Kenny Cooper bagged for Seattle V Portland in the QF of US Open Cup. He scored two in the previous round as well.
  11. Getting Warmer... Lord Harkins' return from beyond the wall
  12. That 'bump' on the defender prior to the pass to Worral was pure class. He just bounced off Harkins. I knew he was better than Blackie Gray!
  13. We won the second division championship doing just that. But we always seemed to have the ability to either level it or score one more than the opposition no matter how many minutes were left. Today, we had a glimpse of what we are capable of both at managerial level with the tactical substitutions early on and with the ability to create chances and score goals from them (5 from 18). i.e we turned it around in a quite stunning manner. It was the quintessential turd polish. One man's bollocks is another man's optimism IMHO. TBH if we are consistently 3-0 down at half time and win 5-4, I could certainly live with that. I remember us being 5-1 down at Oxford during the Championship year with little time left thinking we could still get a draw. We lost 5-1, but knowing what we were capable of in a positive way, literally kept my faith and certainly kept me coming back. I doubt we will ever see the like of that team that won the title, but there are a hell of a lot of similarities in the way the two teams play.
  14. Ye Gods, I have been searching for Billy's boots for years. Who would have thought they were hiding in Aberdeen? Horses for courses and good on him!
  15. According to the stats, the shot count was 18-14 in favour of Latics. That is magnificent entertainment. Now if we can just sign a striker who can put it away, 5 becomes 9! 87 pts anyone?
  16. Mental note to self: put crystal ball in the right way up!
