  1. the site is being kept by the Council, it isn't being sold off when the School closes. Well, the playing fields are being kept, the part of the site where the School is, perhaps would be sold, but that wouldn't be big enough for a stadium, plus the land around there is up and down....in fact, perfect for a ski slope!
  2. Oi! I don't take the pap outta your name do I?!

    MOTM Vs. Charlton

In fairness, it was Colbecks best game in a Latics shirt......although who voted for him at MOTM? C'mon own up?!
  4. So where is this mystery 30-acre site in Hollinwood thats the answer to our prayers?
  5. exactly, did no-one believe Corney when he said that they'd identified and dismissed numerous sites? Ian Hill (surveyor) is on the board, I think I'd believe his reasoning for discounting a site rather than some know-it-all on here spouting their mouth all in the name of 'having a debate'. Did anyone take up Alan Hardy's offer to email him, if anyone could find a 30-acre site in Oldham? No? Well that answer's the question..... Unless the Council / Latics are gunna start CPO-ing land a la Derker, a 30-acre site isn't gunna come forward very often. And even then, I suspect it wouldn't make financial sense.
  6. Dynamos don't even play down there.....has anyone on here actually seen the site?!
  7. About 50 - tops....those on Broadway and Park Avenue only. The only sensible comments I've seen have been on the Oldham Chronicle website by "The Watcher"...he obviously can pick away the Chron bull to understand that the Council will only consult at planning stage. This is just common practice - or do the Failsworth residents want special attention. Muppets.
  8. Who told you that, his banker? I would have thought that information was confidential.....or could it be that you're (at best) speculating or (at worse) just making it up?
  9. What, you mean Counthill School which is being retained in part for the new School which is going on what used to be Orb Mill? What you mean the golf course which is owned by the company that did all the tipping and has rubbish transport links and probable issues with contamination?
  10. eh? are you for real? even Jim McMahon (opposition) said theres no legal restriction on the land. if there's no legal restriction, why shouldnt the land be offered?
  11. not a great deal has been said about our 'penalty'claim in the first half, when Parker was fouled? I know it was at the opposite end, but even the Charlton fans said that it was clear cut....'highlights' doesn't even show that.
  12. 5000+ posts on an internet fan forum and you don't go anymore....you only have to go into the chat room for an average home game to realise that half of this forum is sat at home in front of their computer rather than going to the game. Maybe that's the problem, people think it's easier just to sit in front a computer and become a cyber armchair fan. Man United fans have shown us the way and we're now all following. And for my two penneth, I think more revenue would be generated if they don't just open the bar at bang on HT and shut the bar as soon as the second half starts. I can remember a couple of seasons back at Elland Road, when I had a crap seat beneath pitch level, when I spent the entire second half in the concourse bar watching the game on the TV. And I'm kidding when I say there was at least another 50-odd fans in there all spending money. Maybe this will happen in the new stadium......who knows??!

    charlton

i'd be happy with about 400 - and to be honest, i reck we'll achieve that.
  14. Except everywhere he's gone (with the possibly exception of Swansea), the fans have said he's top drawer.....
  15. I wouldn't disagree with that. If I was 6'3 and had as many balls into the box and outright chances to score, I'm pretty sure I would have bagged over 20 goals. Porter was okay, but certainly not as skilfull (or as lethal) as Abbott has looked. Porter was a penalty box man, with an average ability to hold the ball up.

    MOTM Vs. MK Dons

I just don't see that. Anyone who thinks Whittaker ghosts in and out of games should have a proper look at :censored:. He's got a decent future in the game, but he certainly shouldn't be in the centre of midfield. Don't want to make scapegoats, but the upsurge in form has a lot to do with :censored: being replaced with the legs of Furman. With Furman and Whitts, at least we have the legs to be up and down and involved, something we've missed since Wellens who did a hell of a lot of running and constantly demanded to be involved....
  17. Trains are set off 8:35am from Manchester and 7pm from Euston. they will be a number of Oldham fans on the train at that time. I'm not going due to having over stuff on that day
  18. I'm not going anymore, does anyone want to buy my train ticket 37quid Manchester to Euston
  19. So Sheehan isn't perhaps better going forward than he is at defending (a la Daniel Jones)???
  20. Wheres the moderator when you need him....surely this post is in the wrong part of the forum. Poor show mods.
