    fair do, just saying that if he was that good, Gillingham would have been banging down the door to sign him..... nevertheless, in DP we trust?!

    i'm a bit sceptical on this.....a london (or luton) boy, released by Arsenal. Would have thought that he would would have wanted to stay down south if he could have earned a contract...obviously gillingham werent happy with him, which does pose a question mark over his ability imo. hope i'm wrong.

    i think thats the point, is it worthwhile a club like roughyeds paying latics to open up a 12000 seat stadium when it won't even be a quarter full...i think it's more reasonable to expect them to relocate to a semi-pro club ground (who are desperate for money and in comparison to BP dont have as good a playing surface)....either Chaddy or Oldham Town would be fine. Failing that, a ground share with Oldham RUFC at Bardsley might work.

    Is Darlington's ground about 25K? What do they they average, about 5K? It must be depressing for the fans who attend, and the players to play in a stadium only a quater full. Have Latics ever averaged over 12K in a season?

    these alternative sites that people are coming up with are little over half the size of the Lancaster Club site.....and you can't just knock down listed buildings Ed?! Think we need to face facts, theres few sites in the borough that are actually big enough to accomodate a football stadium, let alone viabally accomodate a stadium.

    A town in it's own right?! It doesnt even have a Parish Council (like Shaw or Saddleworth). Face it, it's in Oldham and (with the exception of Kellys Heroes and Daznathe) full of plastic Mancs. If the sites viable, then why not go for it?

    As long as you're not gonna start knockin' on peoples doors and look for the oldest, most disgruntled neighbours to put on the front cover of the paper looking po-faced, we should be able to look forward to a positive storey then?!?!

    it is within the Borough of Oldham, hence Failsworth folk pay their Council Tax to Oldham......
