  1. any live chat tonight? i want owtb reporters again....! is it 1-0 or is it a wind up?
  2. i guess i'm expecting too much to think that this game will be broadcast on LW?
  3. I think it's a great kit to honour Barcelona's achievement in the Champions League final
  4. I think that's the point, he isn't earning a wage (just training with us)....unless it's another OWTB scoop that we've signed him!
  5. exactly, does this quash the rumour then.....?! roll on the start of the season when we can moan about eardley, gregan and co., at least it creates a debate rather than rumour mongering. the fact is, if the NHS really need the land, they'd use their own first - they wouldn't be trying to sell off the Westhulme Avenue site would they? £500M overspent, the Westhulme Ave land sat empty (getting vandalised to f*** may I add), and they go out and by BP....hardly likely is it?
  6. can we steady on here....a rumour starts because someone mentions the BP land being sold to the NHS. Think about it, the older part of the hospital (accessed from Westhulme Avenue) is owned by the NHS and is empty. Why would theNHS buy BP when they're already sitting on an empty asset? Doesnt make sense. I think we're all fed up with BP, but all it needs is for the building game to pick up, and then theres a chance that there might be an actual buyer for the land. I think it's fair to say thats nowt gonna happen when theres a recession on....
  7. in fairness, prior to blackburn, he hadn't done too bad....did okay with Macc, who were in a pretty awful positoin when he took over.
  8. discount the goals he scored at yeovil (in league 2), and it's not too great either....
  9. Has he, can't remember him really doing owt since he got Yeovil promoted out of League 2?
  10. on the plus side for scum, he's english and isn't there a reintroduction of so many english born players in the squad/starting line up for european games? shrewd business - a goalscorer on a free transfer. whats wrong with that?
  11. Phil Starbucks £2.75 million pound transfer from Sheffield United springs to mind.
  12. just to bring this thread back upto the top of the pile, considering the recent signings, now who's in the starting line up; Fleming Eardley, Hazel, Gregan, Jacobson Lee, Furmanm Worthington, Taylor Abbott, Lewi For me, although Brill comes with good credentials, I'm quite a fan of Fleming. Lee adds a bit of creativity and keeps hold of the ball well, whic h would come in useful, especially away from home and for me (in the absence of another top drawer striker), Lewis could well be the perfect foil for Abbott...the classic little and large strike force.
  13. fair enough, but the Hudds fans I've talked to used to rave on about him....and Hudds was where he was most prolific (didnt he score pretty much 1 in 2 up there?)
  14. includes IAN MOORE http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-fea...rio-of-signings Interestingly enough, also mentions Haining training with the club, but no mention of Hughes?!
  15. saw Chris when I was out shopping yesterday (not in Tesco btw) and he confirmed that he wasn't aware of any interest. now I'm not necessarily saying he would tell me if there was, but considering he was open about his exploits in Zante the other week, theres a good chance that he would have done!
  16. cheers, should be a good day out...just a shame it clashes with the sunderland game, as that was probably the only friendly i was going too.
  17. definately the value team for the betters amongst us. better chance than Brighton and same odds imo. lee clark had them playing well last season, and with the addition of the quality that only money can buy you, they should definately be in the mix. bit of a surprise they didnt go after abbott though, considering he's a semi-God up there.
  18. just so people know, cheapish tickets (around £20) for either very early (the 7.30am start) or around mid-day which would just about get you to the game. hoepfully a few will make the trip.
  19. havent we tried to get schmicheael before...? i thought we went after him a few years ago, when he was having loan spells in scotland (before he broke into citeh's first team?) would be a decent signing imo.
  20. I wonder if Chris Taylor burst into tears when Big Joe and Hughesy went head to head in the dressing room?????
  21. just throwing this out there, but my brother in law works for MUTV (i know, i know), so he's seen plenty of Lee over the years. Recks his best position was as an attacking centre midfielder. off the little i've seen of him, I wouldn't have thought attacking would be the strong point of his game. Seeing as though he's decent on the ball, would have thought it'd be in the centre of the park, pulling the strings, a la the Shezs.
