    Are we a bit of a club to swerve now given the goings on at BP, word must get around within the game that the place is a bit of a circus, you also have to question what player (particularly an experienced one) is going to want to come here and work for Pete Wild, afterall we do have experience of a youth phase coach coming into the club and making the jump to manager, qualified up to the eyeballs only to be undermined by everyone from the Chairman to the playing staff until his position became untenable.

    Watson got it on merit. Equally Askey is hardly going to come out and say "I missed out on a job at a level 6 club after previously managing two clubs in the FL" is he.

    This is the coaching staff about a month or so ago. https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/teams/first-team-staff/ At least half of them are off the wage bill and all we've added to that is some bloke called Hale, who I'd never previously heard of. Wild would struggle with experience around him but the situation at the moment is a farce, by his own admission he's not ready for it and we shouldn't let a couple of results influence a decision going forward, we need to do what's best for the club and for me appointing Wild the cheap option would be a huge mistake.

    Solution to what? It's plain to see what's required, my fear is we will make the same mistakes as last season and spend January watching everyone around us strengthen, rookie manager, no coaching team and about a dozen (if that) fit outfield players isn't a situation I really want to get positive about especially on the back of a fortunate point at home to Forest Green but each to their own.

    He was knocked back and it's common knowledge within the game, not saying he couldn't do a job for us but his appointment would hardly be inspiring.

    It's a mess and needs sorting out, it really is as simple as that, same as last January fucking about and losing all momentum picking up about a point up in the League, now I understand why the eternal optimists amongst our fan base are happy for a repeat performance but I'm not and he needs to sort it out sharpish. Manager/coaching staff and players all need putting in place as the situation currently is bordering on farcical.
