  1. Have you heard anything about Surridge next destination? Been told he's close to signing for the big southern powerhouse to be closer to home that is Bradford City.
  2. And they threw some money around at the time. If AL does give it to Pressley you've got to wonder what he offered that Bunn couldn't.
  3. Very fair point, my take on it though is the problem isn't so much Bournemouth wanting him to move to another team because let's face it his stock has risen whilst he's been here, I personally think that's a smoke screen because Surridge would prefer a club closer to home, it's disappointing but looking back signing a young lad off the south coast was maybe a mistake, let's face it the lads picked and choosed his games, signed himself on the sick for several weeks and at times cruised through games as if they are an inconvenience, don't get me wrong he's got many attributes but for me his heart hasn't 100% been in it, shame really because potentially he could of bagged 30 goals this season and had a promotion on his CV but unlike Lang he's here for himself and has probably had a move on his mind for weeks, hope he stays commits to us for the season and keeps his head down but I won't hold my breath, as for playing him Sunday you have to play your best eleven and if fit he starts.
  4. Struggles defensively though, my points still stand and hopefully when he gets his run upfront he will take it.
  5. Rooney probably said the same thing when he was here stuck out on the left wing, iirc he said he was happy to play anywhere for the team and he was learning all the time, I'm pretty sure if you asked him his preference would be up top, regardless of where he says he prefers to play he's a natural finisher and can also be very direct, his repertoire of tricks isn't too shabby either for a front man, no doubt about it he will score plenty of goals for us and I'd be shocked if the new manager doesn't give him a run up top.
  6. Wish we could have a team of Callum Langs, just love this blokes enthusiasm and general love for the game, as loanees go he's top drawer.
  7. It's not inconceivable that we may see them up top on Sunday depending on the state of O'Gradys injury, bring Branger in out wide and give the two young lads a run out.
  8. Doesn't mean it couldn't be better, if you think being 10th in the league is fine then fair play but personally I'd of paired Surridge and Lang as a front two months ago but it's all about opinions.
  9. Been saying it for weeks, in years to come when he's bagging 20+ a season as a centre forward we can humour ourselves about how he played as a wide midfielder in a season we missed out on the play offs by a point.
  10. And Corney was happy with the cash as well.
  11. Dreadful decision if it's Pressley, speak to any Coventry or Fleetwood fan and both will say he's the worst manager they've ever had. I'd honestly of rather we kept Bunn with his flaws than be this guys latest failure.
  12. Problem I have with the player recruitment proposed is the transition time for these players, even players of the ilk of Thierry Henry took a year or more to adapt to the English game and everything that goes with that, these bigger clubs also have an infrastructure that can accommodate these players and their needs - what do we have? Another teammate who translates isn't really productive in my opinion, if we are going down this route we really need a manager whose multilingual who can communicate with these players and pull everything together on the training pitch. You can't expect a Shez/Wellens type to do that job it needs a man with experience in dealing with players from different nationalities or at least a coach with them skills.
  13. No but for the figures being banded about these players are worth the risk and many clubs are just playing a numbers game, paying for potential rather than the finished article. I'd also expect him to resign on loan for at least this season and maybe even an option for next.
  14. Lang looks to me like he's just happy playing football week in week out.
  15. Only club your likely to see him at is Liquid knocking the shit out of someone, like you've said the usual suspects throwing it out there, although I have been told Patrick Berger was interviewed for the managers job yesterday
  16. Let's see how January goes, we will get a pretty clear indication at the end of the month which way we are heading but the model they tried to implement initially under Shez now seems to be given full steam ahead. Personally I'm uncomfortable with it, I don't like the idea of AL's brother dictating player recruitment and tactics, going into the dressing room and generally undermining all three managers they've worked with, it's already led to one relegation and following that I'd thought they'd learnt some lessons - obviously not. It looks like the two brothers want to control every last aspect of the club and I personally think that's unhealthy, on the plus side it's out in the open now and they can be judged on results.
  17. It will be a nightmare to steward for sure and generally causes more problems than it solves. If they plan on enforcing it I wish them well.
  18. I know it was only a little cameo but he didn't appear short on confidence and the run out will do him the world of good, he was also warmly received and I suspect his family were proud as punch.
  19. Hopefully not, we've not sold the full 4500 so there should be room within that allocation for fans to sit where they want.
