He's suffered like a lot of forwards have here.
If they don't "rip up trees" in the first few games they're given short shrift and some turn out to be half decent.
Clarke-Harris, O'Grady ( first time round ) and Rooney spring to mind.
Were he a strapping 6 footer I'd agree with you but he's under-prepared physically for men's football, however much promise some may see in him.
His time will come but coming into a struggling side is not the right time.
It was widely reported he was on a SEASON LONG loan which mysteriously changed to half season.
To my recollection he didn't figure much mid season until the cup run started and wasn't expected to play at Fulham but made the bench.
If I'm not factually correct my apologies but to my mind he "looked after" himself during his spell on loan and didn't show as much commitment as Lang did.
Whilst agreeing he was worth the punt of another contract it would have been just that as he was nowhere near match fit anytime during his 2nd stay.
His failure to get even close to 100% fit no doubt contributed to the decision not to extend.
Thought he played more than the two games Wiki says,
Thought at the time that " All we need is Junior Agogo" would be a good chant to Queen's Radio Gaga.
RIP
I suppose that proves the consistency point as he did absolutely zilch on Saturday and was lucky to get the full 90.
When Eagles was brought on to play left side he moved inside but couldn't decide whether he was a 2nd striker or attacking midfielder and ended up doing neither.
Reminds me of a City mate of mine some years ago after a particularly inept performance said he was so disgusted that he nailed his season ticket to a tree in his garden.
" I woke up this morning and some bastard had pinched the nail !" was the punch line.
