  1. 2 O'Clock? You'll never make it Sav. You will need at least three toilet stops!!!
  2. Phil Jeavons? Certainly doing the business for Huddersfield at the mo. Plus it would make the ideal Christmas present for BigFin.
  3. I agree Diego - why people can't just keep their gobs shut during the game if they want to be negative, I just don't know - but I do also like LeesLovers take on it.....if the away fans aren't giving our team stick, lets dom it ourselves Let's make sure we get behind they boys and do what WE can to get a string of excellent results over Christmas. If Leeds can put a run together like they have, I believe that we can too. Leeds were lucky to take three points off us at home and even Sean O'Dricoll said we were one of the best if not THE BEST team Doncaster have played - and he should know, we have played them enough times!!
  4. It wasn't Rumbelows - it was the Littlewoods Cup. Matthew answered Littlewoods and got it given as correct, but I am sure that League Cup would also have been given as correct.
  5. Perhaps what we have lost on the roundabout, we'll gain on the swings!! In English - perhaps we will get the rub of the green in the second half of the season better luck soon
  6. Sorry, I was only aware of the Official Line on this one. Also, I don't know which year it was.
  7. Yeah, but Gumbs was here legally as he had permission to be here. Al Bagura has had his request for permanent residency declined. Similar, but different cases.
  8. Yea, we had im as a trialist but didn't sign him on because he was no better then the central defenders we already had at the time.
  9. Hyppia wasn't any better than the defenders we had at the time. He would never have ousted Gary Hoolickin from the first team
  10. Yeah, but Sav, you are still minus 2 now!! I didn't know the Tranmere score, Malawi, Betsy turning down the Seychelles or Oldham County
  11. Actually, perhaps that is a reason why our home form isn't the best this season. Perhaps we aint getting enough stick off the away fans because too few of them bother to turn up in decent numbers......
  12. 8000 divided by 3 = 2666.6 recurring. 30000 divided by 2666.6 = 11.25 Therefore, I deduce that a hostile crowd of 30000 would mean that Hughesy will score 11 goals
  13. Have Leeds already been promoted then? They have played 20 won 15 drawn 3 and lost 2. What is promising to me is that Leeds didn't look that great when we played them and if we could string 20 results together like that, we would be a real force.
  14. Just been replaying Sky plus..... What is Oldham Athletics nickname? Who was the club's manager in the 2002/3 season when they reached the playoffs but lost to QPR? Oldham's largest home crowd came to see them play which team in the 4th round of the FA Cup in 1930? Which controversial character became the chairman of the club in 1965? What is the name of Oldham's official mascot who won the Mascot Grand National in 2002 and 2003? Which Welsh international goalkeeper joined Oldham from Fulham in 2007? Oldham played their 1st competitive game at Wembley against Nottm Forest in the final of which competition in 1990? Who scored a record 141 league goals for Oldham between 1980 and 1994? The most goals ever scored in a football league game was on Boxing Day 1935 when Oldham lost to Tranmere Rovers. What was the final score? Who were Oldham's opponents in the 1990 FA Cup Semi Final and replay, both played at Maine Road? Which player did Oldham sell to Everton for £1million, only to buy back a year later for £600,000? In 1899 Pine Villa changed their name to Oldham Athletic when they bought the football ground Sheepfoot Lane from which club? Who scored 6 goals against Scarborough in the League Cup in 1989? Kevin Betsy turned down the chance to play for which country in the COSAFA cup to help Oldham? Which former Oldham player won 64 caps for Norway? When Earl Barrett collected the Second Division title in 1990, the trophy mistakenly bore the name of which club? To celebrate coming out of administration, Oldham's new owners gave free admission to everyone for a 6-0 win against which club? Who scored 2 goals against Ipswich to win Oldham promotion to the First Division in 1990? Oldham toured Rhodesia and which other country in 1967? I didn't know 4 of them His parents should be very proud of him. He seemed intelligent AND grounded. Good job all round....!!!!
  15. "Step away from the ledge......If you jump then we will take any costs of cleaning up the street below out of your life insurance........if you don't jump and step away from the ledge we will jump all over you and then throw you in a mental hospital for the rest of your natural life!"
  16. Lets remember that when the local residents bought their properties, they maybe expected that the ground would be redeveloped at some point and that we may tarmac the car park. The size and scale of our proposed development - that is needed to secure the financial future of the club - is probably what they are bothered about. Most of the residents will fear the change, but would come out in support of Latics if we were building a new stadium behind someone else's house. Unfortunately, wherever large developments happen there will be local people who will complain. "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time" rings true as does the NIMBY (Not in My Back Yard) acronym. How do you think the residents near to the new Kingsway Business Park development felt? M60? So in all, I don't think that we should slag the ressies off but understand how they must feel and empathise with them. It mustn't be nice, but someone has to go through the inconvenience and it just so happens that it is them.
  17. I agree wholeheartedly Slurms. Also - Frankly Mr Shankly - Bad team player? Are you having a laugh? He put two of the best crosses in from the right wing on Saturday that I have seen in many a long year (probably since Neil Adams). Yes, he may take the option of shooting more often than passing, but he is a striker first and foremost, yet willing to play out wide on the right - despite people saying he is at fault for drifting out wide and that he doesn't pass enough when he has a sight on goal. Craig Davies is the best signing we have made in ages and ages. Porter was on fire last year but Davies has much much more to his game. Davies is Proper Bo!!
  18. Roger Palmer Sheffield Wednesday Blue and Tangerine
  19. Nice one for the video Grumps. I am deffo calling my next cat Gary after watching that.
  20. No I didn't read the last few posts as I was getting wound up with the negativity. There may have been times when I thought we could have done better on the pitch but that will always be the case. I wouldn't change anything in Davies game as it is clearly working and will improve in time - providing he is given the time, Posts with the title "Craig Davies - Stupid" are negative and not constructive. We should be thankful for what we HAVE got, not insulting because he is not yet the finished article.
  21. What a load of rubbish in this thread. Davies is our top scorer and if it wasn't for him and his goals we would be bottom of the league. Strikers have a right to be greedy - in fact I would be more concerned if he was passing too much. If he had "got his head up" and "passed earlier" 10 times this season he could be on 0 goals. He is a striker and is joint third in the goal scoring charts. We need to calm down here and stop talking
  22. Be careful. There are two sides to every story and we only know one of the sides at the moment. Certainly it seems (from the posts on this thread) that this was an unprovoked attack - but they are pretty rare. I am sure that there is more to this than meets the eye.
  23. Seeing as we aint got a scoreboard anymore, can we have the bloke come out at half time with a load of numbered cards who then hangs them on hooks to give us the half time scores. Should also drive up programme sales as if you didn't have a programme, you never had a clue which score was whose. Also bring back Golden Goal and Moonraker!!
  24. What about Roger's Hat-Trick at Maine Road in 88? I can't believe no one has mentioned that one! Other favourites are Wembley, Ipswich promotion, Southampton away in the cup and Ricky Holdens overhead kick at Newcastle.
