  1. Will be great experience for him and he will notice a huge difference phisicality wise to playing in the youth team. Hope he gets plenty of game time there.
  2. To be fair Rooney seemed a good signing based on what we knew and his past record, and most on here were happy. You don't win NL player of the season twice if you are shit. Maybe he needs better players around him to thrive because he's been crap since his debut against Wrexham.
  3. But we haven't got the players to do that! What attacking set up would you have played yesterday with who we have available? You need a midfield and we haven't got one....
  4. I really can't see for the life of me what he brings to the team. Send him back to Bradford now....
  5. Gardiner is still our best midfielder when fit which is where we are I'm affriad. Threlkeld is slow, shit and defensive, Cooper similar and Tollit isn't a midfielder... Until they are binned and we replace at least 2 of the 3 this is what we can expect. I hoped Rooney may be be an improvement but bar his debut he's contributed jack shit
  6. Cooper, Threlkeld, Tollit is a shit midfield 3. Reckon we will got overrun
  7. Not sure if you went on Tuesday BP1960, but their goalscorer Chris Con Clarke, is about the same height as Harry but is a little older at 20. He also looked pretty solid and strong. He had pace to burn and a fair amoount of skill, and in my view was the most dangerous player on the pitch. Looks like he was released from Burnleys Academy, picked up by Fleetwood who loaned him out to Altricham. From what I saw of him on Tuesday he looked far more acomplished than Harry but at 20 has struggled to break through in the EFL. Out of choice and granted I have only seen one game, I'd take him over Vaughan every time. I think Harrys lack of pace and physical strengh will mean he may never make it as a pro which will be a shame. I hope i'm wrong.
  8. Was never Wellens biggest fan when he took us down, but fair play to him he's doing a cracking job at Orient. They were in danger of relegation last season when he took over and they are pissing league 2 this year!
  9. You are correct...there was no closing down on number 16 before he scored....and Harry was the closest man to him and main culprit unfortunately. Was it all his fault - No, we were far too deep and inviting pressure on ourselves Could he and should he have worked harder to win the ball back, then close down before their scorer got his shot off - Yes absolutely.
  10. BP he lost possession which is fine, but then jogged back not showing enough desire to win the ball back in phase 1, then failed to make a challenge or close down their 16 who banged it in the top corner in phase 2/3. He's good and progressive going forward which I like, but in this League you need to put a shift in defending from midfield which he doesn't do particularly effectively....not his strength unfortunately.
  11. Agree it was out of order publically picking him out.and should have been said outside of his interview. But he should have closed down their number 16 more quickly and it cost us a goal.. He was the same size as Vaughan and also technically very good, but he was quicker and physically stronger which made all the difference. None of our lot could handle him last night.
  12. Keepers not the problem. He's been steady for this level. Good keepers don't stay in the NL for long. Some people need to lower their expectations
  13. Look we have a dire squad who are just not good enough to compete in the top half of National League...it's that simple. As soon as everyone accepts this....however painful the less stressful their days will be. I've stopped off for a break on my way back down to London after watching that dross, so trust me I have more reason than most to be fucked off about tonight.... We need a massive player overhaul before things will improve and that's going to take time and some money. Unsworth who I'm not a huge fan of isn't Harry fucking Potter. He can't magic our lot in good footballers overnight....nobody can. Just look at some stats. We've not won away from home in 7 games in this crap division. We have not played any of the top 5 away yet (fucking happy days) and Woking and Bromley currently in 6th and 7th place both dicked us 3-0. We've scored the princely total of 2 away goals in 7 games Be in no doubt we are in a relegation scrap and it's going to get uglier before it gets better at some point....
  14. Spot on with the no passion, control or wanting to win. 90% of our passes go sideways or backwards and I can count on one hand the number if times one of our midfield players turned forward tonight and actually ran at the opo. We seem to be half a yard slower than whoever we play, and put very little pressure on the ball ever. I don't care what system he plays, most of our current squad are just not good footballers. I don't buy this our squad should be good enough to compete in this league. It's blatantly obvious by now we are not. Ask yourself how many of our current squad would get into Wrexham's or Notts Countys side and it all becomes clearer. We are nowhere fucking close and are in a relegation battle. Until we can ship the majority out and start again it won't get better so just back the team and hope we have enough to stay out of the bottom 4.
  15. Yep I agree there is no quick fix, but would like to see a bit more urgency to at least stop the current downward spiral! We are on a run of 1 win in our last 10 games (bar the pens on Tuesday) and that was an 89th min winner at home v fucking Eastleigh! I'm sure he's trying, but If he knows "exactly what we need" then crack on with it I say....why wait?
  16. How much would we need to pay someone these days who would bring some increased quality into the right positions in our side? I heard that experienced pros were finding it difficult to earn what they used to, due to there generally being less money in the lower leagues than previously. 2k/week so 100k per year salary? A couple of these and at least it would likely start to point us in the right direction? Roughly its about what an extra 1000 season tickets sales or the 1000 extra POTD fans generated for us. Also I expected a couple Everton U23's to be here by now or at least secured in January? It's going to take a while for all the lads coming back from injury to get matchfit, and we are likely to pick us a few more knocks with games coming thick and fast and Unsworth working them hard to get them fitter, so I'd like to see some movement over the next week or so. He should know by now who he wants to keep and who to get rid of so start the process now, and paya few off early if we need to. Clearly what we currently have could leave us in the bottom 4 and in a whole lot of trouble by January.
  17. Be interesting to see Unsworths view on whether he contributed enough to get a start against a pretty average Yoevill side on Saturday. My guess from the views on here is he will be on the bench at best.
  18. For those that went Harry played 22 mins plus extra time. How did he do? Did he change the game for us? Did he do enough to earn a start Saturday?
  19. I've got a feeing he might be involved in some way tonight. Coming on from the bench with 20 to go perhaps....
