The way I see it our team currently looks something like Woods Mills Hamer Lacovetti Nepo Branger Missi Maouche Syla Vera Benteke Clearly a few glaring gaps in scoring enough goals and any real experience in the centre of defence. Lets hope we can sign a few before Forest Green!

Carlo had his limitations but should be nowhere near our worst striker nominations. Its all relative I guess, depending on the level we were playing at the time. I can remember back in the late 70's, big Jim Steel seeming a bit shit to me as a 10/11 year old fan....he used to get loads of stick from the old Ford Stand paddock in his early days with us. However he'd walk into our current side and probably score a shitload!

Agree. Cant see us taking many more or many less. Hope its a better performance and better weather this year!! Both were shit last season....

Agree he could have been a good asset and mentor to the younger guys and has been an awesome player for us. However if the playing budget is tight which it clearly is, then you cannot just sign Clarke for another season to "use him sparingly". He's probably on a decent salary for a club like us, so if he wasn't up to playing pretty much every game then it was the correct decision to release him IMO. I 100% agree the way he was released was crap though. Also the relationship between him and owner seem to have become untenable so I would have thought even if offered a deal Clarke would have walked.

I'm happy with this. He's played nearly all his football at a higher level than we currently are. 2 year deal which is as long as we could have hoped for with any signing Nearly 200 competitive games so has the experience required to help the young lads this season #englishlad

Tell you what....shall we just wait to hear from Laurent on July 1st before we completely right him off! I don't disagree the appointment is a bit left field but FFS give the guy a chance to at least tell us what his plan for the season is before throwing him to the wolves. Any realist on here knows there was little chance of any credible British manager with any sort of track record wanting to join the club, the state Corney left it in, and the way AL seems to operate. I'm prepared to see what happens on the playing side over the next few months and see where we are at Christmas. If he's as bad as most on here are making out then he'll be gone by then anyway.

In 3 years since joining Blackburn he has made 59 appearances across 5 clubs (42 of them for us!!) and is currently at Shamrock Rovers.....tells you everything you need to know about his attitude because his talent is unquestioned.

Thanks Singe -I'll definitely be scrutinizing these when released. The irony is they could show he may have really bankrolled us since the takeover, to a level way above what most of us think....I'm not sure it would change my view significantly on him, however I'm really curious about just much cash he has actually ploughed into us.

Who knows eyresy....but he would need to more than treble the number of non season ticket holding supporters attending just to break even. I just hope he's got enough cash to get us through the summer.....

Just my opinion based on what I've read and seen to date. If you have any opinions you can share in support of his financial acumen, or in support of the way he manages the club then feel free to do so!
