  1. Be interesting to see what happens on the pitch, and see how Pete Wild fares again and whether he can get a tune out of this lot til end of season
  2. Time for scholes to pop his head up from his sangar and speak about what exactly it was which pushed him so soon from a job which had wanted for so long at the club he so loved. Would go a long way to shedding some light on what the heck is going on within the depths of our beloved club. Im not holding my breath...
  3. Me too, difficult times which just never seem to bottom out. I will always have this club close to my heart but I'm struggling for motivation to attend games.
  4. Market forces and all that, hunger for success etc, it's an ethical thing really and that's why nothing will probably change
  5. Absolutely, player wages have been squeezing clubs and their fans for too long, and more often than not the return for that crazy investment is a big fat zero.
  6. Preventing relegation trumps the vast majority of things, after watching Latics plummet over 30 years or so I cant buy into the phoenix from the flames theory. We never seem to bounce back and more worryingly we always struggle in the league we drop into, I mean as things stand now I'm struggling to see where the next 3 points are coming from after the last month or so. I cant see us getting anything on Sat for starters.
  7. Problem for us is that its all rumours really on both sides, although its probably a fair bet we are being run like a circus by the chairman based on all the anecdotal stuff. Bunn has been silent, and Rhodes and Scholes apart from his brief farewell statement. Yes I know Bunn went after the Carlisle drubbing but he went bloody sharpish with no parting comments afterwards. If its all really that bad, surely one of the above (or all) who all claim to love the club, could be a bit more vocal about how dire the situation really is.
  8. I don't really know the full circs of their situation, there must be a reason behind the fans demanding he go? These things don't occur overnight. His comments smack almost of "right, this will teach em a lesson". I suppose it only reinforces the argument of approaching our situation in a more measured way.
  9. I think this chairman is more likely to buckle under pressure than his predecessor. He reminds me of a child, some naive quality about him. I get the impression he doesn't really know what to do from here on, particularly after scholes has walked . Rather than any bad intention or malice I just get an overall feeling of incompetence from this guy. Couldn't run a bath, kind of thing. Just my opinion of course.
  10. In the light of that its probably a good thing he left, we need someone who actually gives a s**t about us.
  11. Wild may genuinely believe he can do a reasonable job with this squad. Who knows. He can't do any worse than Ps.
  12. This is my point, because of his ludicrously short stay with us, I think he owes us, the fans, a little more in the way of an explanation of the issues which led to him leaving. I mean, to realise a long held ambition to manage your boyhood club, an 18 month contract, a plan? strategy etc only to ditch it all after a month. It doesn't make sense.
  13. You see this is why I keep saying it would have been very helpful for Scholes to add some meat to the bones of his original and all too brief statement when he walked out last week. He has left more questions than answers. Maybe this would also add a little more credence to other similar stories about this current chairman which would in turn build up a more accurate picture. As things stand , we don't really know what the truth is and probably never will and the soap opera will continue.
  14. "Delighted" is a bit strong, although I genuinely wish Pete all the very best and would love to see him guide us to a few wins.
  15. He has said that before, and even if its true it doesn't detract that the club is being run like Billy Smarts circus with him at the helm
  16. Of course if you want to attend the game I would understand, but I think voting with feet will make this guy stop and think. Just a reminder to him and his brother that fans are extremely unhappy. I love this club but I'm prepared to skip a game if it gets his attention in the strongest possible way.
  17. Oh it will, probably Wild til end of season. Then another false dawn and...
  18. Makes me wonder. He just seems very flawed as a character, almost childlike.
  19. Agreed, but him actually saying what you have just said would leave no more room left for speculation - horses mouth and all that
  20. Oh? I didn't realise his parting statement was so specific. If that is what he said then good on him, but I don't think he did
  21. Yes he does after a pathetic 7/8 games in charge. Clear and obvious? Behave. More like ambiguous and murky, raising more questions than answers.
