In truth we were never going to get anything out of tonight, as soon as I saw it on the fixture list I wrote it off in my head.

I think its the squad, not Scholes. Hope he doesn't prove me wrong. We need players with the intelligence to repeat what they are being drilled in training. I don't doubt the individual ability of many of them but we need a solid well drilled squad, with that wiley quality about them to do the right thing at the right time to protect the points and get us out of this league.

Hopefully, new broom and all that, keep around four, thanks for coming to everyone else. We will not progress as a club with this squad and scholes knows it.

Scholes profile is precisely why we may be able to improve on some of the poor signings of recent seasons. I would like to think he already has a plan and a list of players he is looking to bring in. There is a lot of work to do in my opinion because I don't have any faith in a large portion of this squad, not so much from an individual skill basis but a collective intelligence, as in when to shut up shop, exposing teams weaknesses, when to hit on the break etc and NOT try time wasting with half an hour to play! You could coach and coach some of our current squad and nothing would change.

I recall some plane hijacking by a terrorist group of some kind. All the hijackers wore t shirts with che Guevaras pic on. Must have thought it sent out a dont mess with us kind of message. Half hour later and all the t shirts were riddled with bullet holes all the "Rebs " dead, all the baddies picked off nice and tidy. Bit of trivia there for you... right I'll get my coat

Gardner imho is a good breaker up of play and a worker who gives 100%, but that's where the good stuff stops because his passing is truly awful. Ive sat at games and actually counted double figures sometimes when he has passed to the opposition. Frustrating player.

Keeping any of them is a backward move to me

I like Gardners energy and industry etc but it counts for nothing when he gives the ball away immediately after winning it. That makes him a liability to me.

I admire his optimism but I don't share it

Two draws, two losses and one win also explains the gate yesterday. It's about winning. Ita been far too long since we even strung a decent set of wins together and as much as people do love this club it has an eroding effect on the fans. Everything crossed for scholes and next season. Badly want the club and him to bring some good times back.

Thats true. Winning is what it's about. Not just the taking part, then at the end a pat on the back and a "we should've won that, we were all over em " etc.etc.

We do deserve some decent luck, but as the saying goes you make your own luck. It's the challenge for scholes to put that right this summer. The players are out there and hopefully he can bring them in somehow. The vast majority of this bunch aren't up to the job no matter how we dress up the odd decent performance. Roll on summer.

Just out of interest I'm not talking about today in isolation. That would be silly wouldn't it... When it's almost a foregone conclusion we are going to concede at the death of several matches there are clearly people not taking on board what's being asked of them. After several games of this occurring this would suggest an issue.

Vast majority of this lot are a shower of shite. Negative but true. Effing joke to concede at that stage. Over and over they are doing. Fooking naive. Busy summer for scholes to recruit some proper footballers.

Definitely, this should be the start of a constructive journey for the club, basically to build and repair on numerous dysfunctional and disjointed seasons. I would like to think with his pedigree that Scholes has an eye for a decent player, the challenge is spotting and obtaining them at this level with our budget and that is where his numerous contacts in the game should be utilised . Scholes should use and I believe is using our relative safety now to experiment to see what everyone throughout the squad is made of and like some on here have already said, I think there are several who will be gone in summer. Lets see if he can get the Scottish lad in from Ayr, would be a good start.

He will have to be patient. Got to leave the manager to it, I just hope Scholes can do it for us in the long run. Feel like we are cursed these days.

Its a good job Scholes landed when we were (pretty much) safe, otherwise the pressure would have been truly on. One win, a draw and two losses. Summer is key and he needs to get it right. 40 years of supporting this club has been like acid erosion to my soul!
