Bloke jumped by Leeds "fans" in toilet

Recommended Posts

Was anyone sitting in the upper deck at Elland Road, where a latics fan went to the toilet mid first half and got turned over by 6 Leeds fans in the away toilet, returning to the stands, being sick everywhere and being taken off by paramedics, we then learnt he was in emergency surgery, heard how he is? Can't believe there is nothing on here about it, but it has really put the mockers on getting the win. I have been through every emotion from angry to crying at the game, and it has rocked me big time. Anyone know how he is - I cannot get it out of my mind.

I was getting a pie and a pint under the stand just before half-time and saw some fella being stretchered out....looked in a bad way...like he was having a fit or something....not like he'd been done over...

How would Leeds fans get into our toilets ?...doesn't make sense to me....plus, knowing what some of our lot can be like there'd have been uproar if this did happen.

Anyways, whatever happened to the guy, I Hope he's alright.

I saw him, and thought the same, that he was drunk. Jesus thats awfull if it turns out to be true hope he's ok.

I know theres only a shoddy gate seperating the two sections but theres a steward there at all times i know i talked to him, which begs the question how did they get in there and were they leeds fans?

He was a young lad with his girlfriend. I saw him before the game looking entirely normal and sober. He was being escorted out in front of us, vomiting and looking unwell. Assumed he was drunk but remember thinking that he went from sober to plastered in about 20 minutes. Didnt look particularly battered or bruised and certainly no-one else mentioned it in the ground. Seems very strange, if it is true I hope he makes a speedy recovery and they catch the thugs.

Aye, I saw him being taken away, again thinking he was drunk. However, that is shocking. Not only were the Leeds fans singing "time to go" and "cheerio", but apparently now they were the ones to injure the lad. Pathetic.

If this is confirmed, I fully expect us to report A. The fans and B. the stewards - I saw them running about a few times, and it looks as though they've let a few of their fans slip into our end.

Now, for me, I think our behaviour was pretty good today. Good banter, which wasn't asked to be cooled, and the only standing was from fans at the back -which, their stewards didn't have a problem because they're not affecting others' viewing of the match. There was very little abusive language too from what I could hear. So we kept our own fans safe, so if we fail to report this -again, if true - I will have a major problem with our owners, and they will lose a lot of respect from me. It works in a two-way thing.

How did you find this out Latics Lady?

In answer to your question UpTheLatics: I found it out from one of the people sitting next to him, and it was only three rows in front of me. I want to know how those thugs got into the away end and why it took the stewards an age to get a medic to him. I intend to write to Leeds and copy the FA into it being as I was so close to something that has really upset me - I will let you know how I get on.

I wish I had known this at the time. Out of four of us at the game two of us are doctors and one paramedic. We were about 10 rows behind near the back. Although not much you can do without the equipment.

You should also contact Alan Hardy or someone, explain what happened just in case they're not aware of it. I'm not being patronising or owt, but if we as a club can find out what really happened, our voice is louder than just a fans', who the FA may just think is biased and may not follow it up in the correct way.

Yeah i agree. Terrible news this and I think Alan Hardy will do his utmost surrounding the situation.

To be fair to the Leeds fans (I know it is wrong to be so), if our fans thought he was pissed, the odds are they thought the same.

Clearly, if th outcome is as reported on this post, it's an awful situation and I would agree with every word said.

I think we need fuller information before condemning Leeds for this though.

I'm not sure this season but I swear the toilets in the away bit were used by home fans last year. There was not much segregation.

The bar was used by a small section of Leeds last year too.

I don't think you can accidentally wander between the two this year, but can probably walk round and kick someones head in if you are that type.
